2019 Derpibooru Community Collab

Ok, so the good news is that I got the height issues to be…. slightly less of an issue… I was able to squeeze the first few rows together, and move some characters back a few rows to decrease the width, and then scale it back to width to increase the vertical height… Still not gonna be ideal, but it’ll be better.
This is such an odd collab - I essentially have as many characters placed as there were in the first one, yet like 75% of the canvas is still empty. I think you all will like it though, it’s looking really good so far, and I finally got enough rows completed that it definitely looks like a Derpibooru collab.

It has been a couple years since i’ve used either, but both can edit photos, use layers, have a multitude of brushes and features, and both can save in .PSD.
Theres no downside to trying gimp as its free, but if you want a more comprehensive look at the programs, i advise searching up the comparison on google or creating a discussion about it in the art forum.
That being said if your looking for a drawing program, i’d advise looking at something else. both can let you draw and what not, but they are not actually ‘drawing programs’. For that, you’d want something like Clip Studio (Manga Studio) or something similar.

I always hear people talking about Photo Shop and all these other programs. Am I the only one who uses Paint Shop?

I want to say something sarcastic after that last bit but I’d feel bad after all the work you’ve put in.

Pretty much. I think Bluemeganium (NSFW) uses it, but Paint Shop is very uncommon, alongside Sketchbook.

You’re fine, I love sarcasm.

Actually, thinking of it, Blue may be using Coraldraw instead. I forgot that they make two different art programs…

Well CoralDRAW is for vector, while Paintshop Pro is for rather image XD, also they have other program called Coral Painter, though it’s raster program that emulating real-life canvas painting. I haven’t try both Paintshot Pro and Corel Painter. Maybe in the future I coukd try it.
Also the thing I really noted using CorelDRAW is that. They trying to reduce complexity a much as possible compare to Illustrator, which I tried before but giving up because getting used for simplicity of CorelDRAW XD

No, you aren’t. I used to draw with its vectors back when I didn’t have a drawing tablet. Nowadays it’s mostly for typesetting and paper sketch / photo cleanup - PSP has one of the best tools for manual cleanup. A bit clunky, but still a lot easier than Photoshop.

I see. Oh well. I like it, and I don’t art enough to be worth looking into another program.

The program you use can only do as much as you can artisicly speaking. Don’t sweat it if you hear other people using different stuff.

Krita is pretty nice for drawing from what I hear.
I tried it once on Linux with my old Wacom, worked perfectly out of the box and is way more suited to actual drawing than GIMP. It seems to be the best free as in freedom application for that purpose. Not sure about its vector capabilities, I’ve only ever used inkscape for those.

Gimp is only capable of making/working with rasters as far as I know - No vector support.

So, the good news is I made some decent progress tonight… At least decent by my standard.
The not so good news is that I found a few duplicates that had to be removed. Plus there’s two more OCs who may be removed to certain circumstances that I won’t discuss.
Either way, after re-counting, I may be up to ten characters short of a thousand. I really rather not come all this way to fall short by just a single digit. So if there’s anyone who either has a friend who didn’t get into the collab on time, or if you drew OCs for others and would want to include a second OC of yours, I’m gonna be taking a few more very-late submissions just to make sure there’s at least a thousand in this collab.
Just please, let me know if you’re doing this/when you upload them.

Would you be alright if I jumped on that train to add two in cause I got a semi-idea? 🤔
(saying this now as I’m gonna go to bed and I don’t wanna wake up to thirty images)
