The best part: she still failed to organize the wedding. Vinyl and Octavia were the ones to completely set it up. Even when given the chance to organize she fails.
 
Guru: Amethyst. How does it feel to be the bronze medal?

The way I take it is that she is almost on Twilight’s level when it comes to organization.

Just because she’s best, doesn’t mean she’s good enough.

Well they may no longer need her in a project management capacity, in which case AJ and RD also presumably are no longer team leaders. Instead they can focus on working and Twilight doles out the tasks.

That’s how I always saw it. That Twilight brought something new and necessary (besides her magic) and only improved the community, symbolized by them creating a new vest and position for her.
 
But apparently now they’re trying to push the idea that she did replace Amethyst by being a better organizer, based on the clip, which paints the whole thing in a more negative light.

Amethyst Star is actually the animal team lead in Winter Wrap Up–she has the legband (and AJ is plant team lead, RD weather team lead). Ponyville didn’t have a central project manager before Twilight, hence the reason they were always at loggerheads: the team leaders couldn’t coordinate. So she didn’t take anybody’s job.

I mean, if the thing came in late every other year prior, it implies that either Amethyst never tried, or that she just wasn’t as good as Twilight is.
 
I agree it casts that episode in slightly less triumphant light, though.

Because what I was trying to say is that the episode’s very message was that there was something Twilight could do without magic that the town needed. That she found a way to belong in the town in that way.
 
I feel introducing the idea that that role was ‘stolen’ from someone else makes that idea weaker. Twilight was supposed to be helping and bringing something the community was in need of, not stealing someone’s job.

Wasn’t the whole point of Winter Wrap Up to show that Twilight’s organization skills were badly needed in Ponyville and helped everyone? That even without using magic she had a way to help and a role to fill in the town she was getting used to?
 
Now we’re told that she basically stole the job of the previously best organizer. Kinda ruins that.

I don’t know why people assume Amethyst was the organizer for WW when the episode ends with the NEWLY CREATED “Organizer” title being bestowed upon Twilight. She was a team leader but not the overall organizer.

Dang, I really feel sorry for her.

Amethyst: I’m going to optic blast her.
