to be fair, unlike baghdad, griffonstone didn’t lose something that made their place livable (baghdad’s irrigation system was annihilated by the mongols so their farmlands became useless).
still, anyone else notice that people in impoverished towns/cities/nations assume that when someone new is at the helm, everything will be magically be fixed instantly no matter how messed up the situation is?
