I’m not trying to disagree with your headcanon. We all have some in one form or another. So sorry if I gave that impression. And I won’t even start with the age thing, because though I could argue that since Rarity and friends in Canterlot are therefore likely 18 or less, she would be very unlikely to even be ABLE to have one….but as I said, there is no official age. And the portal isn’t synonymous with ages, as Babs is apparently older and Spike is a freaking dog.
Sorry to invoke this argument, but Lauren Faust had them down as teenagers/young adults. They don’t deal with parents or living conditions because they aren’t central to the theme in this world. I see them as very late teens to early 20’s at most. The age difference of 15 years between two kids is a bit much for me(far from unheard of, I know, but certainly not commonplace)
But, as I’ve said, there is no way for me to prove Rarity couldn’t conceivably ahem conceive Sweetie…except for the fact the show clearly states otherwise. And for it to be any other way wouldn’t suit the world. But that’s what headcanons are for, goodness knows there is as much chance of Sweetie being Rarity’s daughter as Rarity hooking up with Applejack (though Korra did break some ground on that front…)

If you like it, fine. I just personally wouldn’t like it, which is fine for both of us and it isn’t any of my business to begin with. Sorry for the inconvenience.

OK, let’s put this in human terms for a moment. I realise that doesn’t equate perfectly to aging rates for ponies, but these aren’t normal ponies, so why not. Anyway, Sweetie Belle is in school, clearly. I know that in EqG, the cutie mark crusaders are shown in Canterlot High and described as Freshman, but I honestly doubt they’d be that old - the pony CMC act quite a bit younger than their EqG counterparts, imho. So I’d say the pony CMC would be (in human terms) about 10. If you equate getting your cutie-mark to hitting puberty, that kinda makes sense, right?
Now, Rarity (and the rest of the Mane 6 for that matter) are young adults. They’ve left school, they have jobs. Dashie, Twiley, Rares and Flutters have their own homes. Both AJ and Pinkie live at their place of work - Pinkie works for the Cakes, and AJ works on the family farm, so it makes sense that they live there. But they’ve all been working for a while, as they clearly haven’t just started their jobs, they’re very skilled at what they each do. So early 20s would not be unbelievable, maybe as much as 25, but still young adults.
This now gives an age gap in human-like terms of 15 years. Could Rares have had a child in her teenage years? Certainly. In the real world, there are news reports of girls as young as 12 giving birth. That would be a very good reason for her and her family to hush the matter up within the wider community.
TL;DR - I don’t mind if you don’t agree with my fanon, but this was just an explanation I made up to explain it. :) Feel free to ignore it as you wish. :)

I envision Sweetie Belle thinking Rarity is her sister, with Rarity’s parents helping to keep up the charade so she can have a normal childhood. Yeah, it’ll never be canon, but it can make for good fanfiction.
The best this could ever get is headcanon, which is only worth the pixels that make it.
Technically it’s non-canon, but…. It can become canon if the show takes it on board.
It cannot, however, ever be completely disproven. Why, you ask? Because anything that disproves it can be explained away by any fan willing to, as just being that they’re doing an exceptionally good job of keeping up the pretense that they’re sisters to the outside world. So hah? xD
