That sounds cool, do you mean MLP’s original creators here, or us? Because I reckon if we stayed together and refused the bullshit we’re about to be force-fed by Hasbro, we could stay together a whole lot longer than the DBZ fandom did when it was fed that GT bullshit.

One of the most annoying things about all of this? Their plans for Applejack. Some “Writer” wants the character revamped into a generic black woman character, because she’s friends with a “Comedian” from one of those shitty anti-trump shows. She’s having the character made into a shell for the sake of a nepotism-hire who can’t act. And in the process, spitting on the rare good western-woman role model this character gave children before these piece-of-shit writers flanderized her from “Goes without sleep for days for the sake of her family, learns to ask for help in this episode” to “Hates all fruit and loves apples, this is just who this hick is”.

Compare the Applejack in Fall Weather Friends to the Applejack in Non-Compete Clause.

God, why are all the worst MLP episodes either OC-shilling episodes, stock plots, fanbase-insulting episodes, or worse versions of episodes better writers already did? Why can’t they go high-energy, attempt an interesting premise, and fuck it up with some dignity? Why do they set the bar so low and still fail to reach it? Is that why they’re “Rebooting” the show, so they can remake it worse, hoping to disgust us and drive us off so we’ll stop “Over-analyzing” their work and “Caring too much” and “Demanding perfection” and so on?

It hurts to know these are the people we’re trusting with MLPFIM and the next generation of MLP, the people who want Applejack replaced with another generic pandering character while keeping her marketable face and name, the people who think MLP’s success relies entirely on “Irony” and “80s nostalgia”.

Well, yeah, obviously. It’s not exactly reassuring to know that the scriptwriters are getting notes from people with very sketchy understanding of the brand.

On an unrelated note, whenever they refer to Pink Moon in an email, mentally replace that with Jem: the Movie

These emails are actually pretty interesting, if you do some digging.
The ones about script revisions, for instance. And one piece of advice to Amy Pascal from George Leon: “Also, don’t get distracted with their “brony”talk. It’s girl and only girl. That Brony thing is dads with really you gdaughters trying to be cool.”

Did you see the email that said they want the directors of ICE AGE to make it?
Background Pony #5EC1
Apparently. They read the first draft of the script (no spoilers, so don’t worry), at least. They’re still interested in distributing it, though, and Sony had meetings with Hasbro about it.

Search for My Little Pony in the wikileaks link and you should find emails.

IS sony involved in the movie? I;m pretty sure that the new movie is produced inhpise by hasbro new production company.

Dose this mean that sony tried to negociate an MLP movie and failed?

Remember the whole fiasco with North Korea and “The Interview”? And how all those Sony emails got leaked?

There are a bunch of emails about MLP there. They were interested in producing and releasing the movie. Hasbro decided to produce it themselves, but Sony’s still interested in releasing it.
