Exactly. Finally some one who understands the concept of a democratic socialist ideology.
Starlight is communism.
Pony is horse.

This is NOT good argumentation. You failed to actually address his points, instead jumping to an appeal to emotion.
If only human monarchy had immortal benevolent rulers focused on harmony, friendship and having innate control of a critical aspect for life on earth to exist…if only.
Honestly? They weren’t completely wrong. It’s just that Monarchy has a far bigger flaw than a few bad votes: shitty/evil heirs to the throne.
Democracy always has something to balance it out. A shitty heir doesn’t.
We’ve seen anarchy.
Like it so much? Move to Somalia.
and back during the enlightenment, all the brightest minds of the day thought that what we call democracy would never work, since it would entrust the ignorant masses with too much power…
Indeed. Finally, someone gets it.
Yeah, that stopped being an option when we started farming and had a population boom. There are too many people in the world to support a return to hunter-gatherer societies, and that is the only way Anarchy works.
And that has its own problems! Not inherent, but inseparable.
There is but one government that has no inherent problems:
No government.
Sure it was. And did I say I supported Romney (as a candidate in general, not as opposed to Obama)? Of course not, don’t put words in my mouth.
As for what I’d have done, I’d have included the few necessary reforms that did get included in Obamacare, such as the removal of the ‘prior existing conditions’ nonsense…and left off the gigantic socialist mandatory purchase part.
I’m sorry, but the healthcare system we had before was broken.
Besides which, Obamacare was based on Masscare… which was created by Romney.
Seriously, What would you have done to fix healthcare?
… I’m kind of ashamed I didn’t notice she was pink before writing that out now.
…Sounds fair.
I also appreciate the pun.
This is going no where fast. We both agree there are problems with all the systems of government, both of our preferred systems included, so can we just agree the pony up there is a pinko commie and call it a day?
Odd, considering all the hatred directed at the bourgeoisie…in fact, socialism as I recall doesn’t even believe in a middle class.
Free education? Yes. Free health care? God, no. Because I’ve seen government healthcare in action, and it sucks. But it’s cheap! Cheap enough that private companies will dump any actual working healthcare programs from their employee plans with a shrug, saying, “Well, you can buy it from the government. Hope you don’t mind waiting 2-3 years to get that lifesaving operation.”
@Lawful Girly
Can’t, not won’t. I’m in favor of free health care, free education, and if you have kids or a disability, enough money to buy food and pay for basic utilities. Not handing out money because someone doesn’t want to work.
That’s kind of my point. In a decent socialist system the majority of the burden being shoulder by the middle class at the moment is transferred to the upper class, leaving the middle class with enough to pay for their lives. The fact that’s not happening is more to the point that Obama doesn’t know what he’s doing when it comes to socialist reforms and Congress is so busy being corrupt and untouchable that they just don’t care enough about the people they’re supposed to represent are suffering for it.
Can’t or won’t? Big difference. It’s funny how I see every homeless person in town out collecting food stamps because they can’t afford food, and yet they all manage to get fresh tattoos, cigarettes and booze, none of which are cheap. It’s a nice idea in theory, but along with those who genuinely need help you get those who just leech off the government teat, and it won’t get better until there’s some way to tell the difference.
No, we can’t. Because everything is resting on the middle class now, since the lower class has no money and the government’s buddy-buddying with the ultra-rich so they barely pay any–which is not capitalist, in fact.
What I’m saying is a believe in providing for those who can’t provide for themselves is the government’s job. Obama’s version socialism is a completely broken mess that needs to be retooled form the ground up and the immigration reform he passed doesn’t have a damn thing to do with socialism.
But no, Free Health Care and Education provided by the government isn’t a bad start, and neither is paying a living wage to actually keep money circulating in the economy. But no, heaven forbid we actually try to fix a broke system because it would cost money from the upper and middle classes via taxes they can afford.
