It’s because not a lot of people on Derpibooru are Chinese or seem to celebrate Chinese New Year. Believe me, I know that feeling that a CNY pic is made for CNY and not anyone responds with anything related to CNY. Except for me, Happy CNY or Kung Hei Fat Choi said no one ever on this image.

What really impresses me, is how Gravity Falls just comes out swinging. Any show, animated or live-action, gives a small sense that there is room for improvement, no matter how good. GF just feels cemented in it’s identity.

I’m having the same experience. It’s one of a bunch of cartoons I’ve heard people rave about for a while but I didn’t watch it until the second season started. I love it but also hate it because it’s the pop-culture-reference-packed paranormal comedy I’ve dreamed of making since I was in high school.
I hate that I’m just now watching Gravity Falls. It’s freakin’ amazing.
