I’ve seen beach-ballier bumps hereabouts, and RL equines get rather round & wide themselves. If anything, you’d think that tendency would be further accentuated with FiM ponies’ generally stockier builds. Granted, newborns are far less lanky & long-limbed than RL foals, but their heads are even proportionally larger than human munchkins, so it seems like they’d take up similar space.

Hmmm… Granted, I’ve not seen much “Pregnant Pony” art myself, but does anyone else thinks Twilight’s foal-bump looks… Off? Like she swallowed a beach ball rather than has a proverbial bun in the oven.
 
Then again, I’m not sure what would be accurate, and let’s be honest: That’s an awkward angle to render anyway.
 
Say, will we see a Dusk Shine/Sunset Shimmer version of this?
