Let us also not forget that scanning a third mode was supposed to be kind of a big deal. Then suddenly everyone can do it like it was nothing and now heatwave is a quadruple changer with no fanfare.
They’re officially considered canon, even if both the show and the comics constantly step on each other’s toes when it comes to canon (I.e.:Discord having had friends in the past).
If it’s any consolation though, I don’t consider them to be canon either.
Kraken and Leviathan (who was a sea serpent, is that whale supposed to be a reference to something? ._. ) aren’t even greco-roman, I doubt they’d include them.
Also Charybdis was literally just a whirlpool (or at least the version that would be easier to adapt for kid-friendliness is…) I’m not so sure that really counts as aquatic life…
@mattwo
Still the flagship cartoon (not the comics) lacks more aquatic/amphibious creatures, aside from the Sea Serpent, the (Laernean) Hydra, the Cragadile, and technically the Sirens/Dazzlings.
Should we petition to the writing team a story arc about the Mane 6/7/whatever involving seafaring (one of them gets easily motion-sick), and then the dreaded legend Kraken and a whale named Leviathan, or Scylla and Charybdis?
@mattwo
I don’t think they’re the same Blurr, Alligned seems to be branching into multiple continuities and embracing it. And the purpose of Blurr’s character arc was for him to learn the Autobot way, so he kinda had to start off needing improvement.
@mattwo
History… As you’ve so kindly pointed out… Yes!
In G4 though?! This Site… Although all thing Pony. Is primarily ONLY interested with this G4 thing.
Last time I checked there were still NO Seaponies in G4!
Blurr isn’t though… at least they kept the fact he’s from Velocitron from the Exiles novel. Though one has to wonder what happened between the events of that book and his arrival on earth.
…Tirek would be a better alt mode for Galvatron than for Optimus, I think.
If it’s any consolation though, I don’t consider them to be canon either.
Ugh, not this again.
If I must s p e l l it out for you… “In G4” = TV Canon… IDW =/= canon, neither were those books that I recall.

Salvage is a pretty likable guy though.
Yea, about that… http://mylittlewiki.org/wiki/Category:Sea_Ponies
I’m not saying he’d never fly, just that he’d stay on the road whenever it was practical.
I could say the same of you and Blades’ character development.
I think you may be overestimating Dani’s powers of persuasion just a bit.
Again, that’s what Dani is there for.
“Is used to” and “wants too” are not necessarily the same thing.
LOL
That’s what Dani is there for. Besides, he’s used to flying by now.
If they gave Blades an altmode that didn’t fly, he’d have an excuse to not use the one that did.
“Me Optimus Prime is now new king of Dinobots!”
