To be honest, I don’t feel like America’s really as crazy-religious lately as people think.  
Heck, there’s actually been alot of “religion-bashing” in the American media, (heck “Family Guy” makes fun of the religious-right in almost every episode now) and there’s been a li’l bit of “religious censorship,” like people getting angry everytime they see a lower-case letter-T somewhere.  
So I really don’t understand why Atheists still feel like they’re a “persecuted minority,” or think that all the evil christians are out to “get them.” I understand some christians can be annoying, or intolerant, but I feel atheists can be, as well.
 
As I said, I’ve dealt with both religious-nuts, and atheist-nuts alike, (and both have tried to convert me to their mindset) I really see no difference between them as both are equally obnoxious, and both tend to bash each other.
 
Y’know, I saw an old-school “Legend of Zelda” T-shirt where they edited the cross off Link’s shield.  
To be honest, I wasn’t as bothered by that as much as the fact they didn’t replace it with a triforce symbol, or anything, just left it completely blank oddly.

I’m an atheist, but I’m not “offended” by religious things. For me, it’s just armless culture. However, I’m from Canada and over here, religion IS separated from the state for real and we don’t have to fight off the religious zealots out of office. The problem was dealt with in the 1960’s! So, all that remain is the cultural thing. And that good.

To be honest, I don’t understand why some die-hard atheists practically drool over anything slightly “blasphemous.” (The way they talk about christians, you’d think christians went around eating puppies.)
 
Not that I’m offended by this image, but boooy the people on DA (in the source link) are really going off about religion in the comments. (Including the artist.) It’s crazy.
 
I know not all “religious-people” are “nice,” but it’s not like atheists are either. (Like this >>300879 for instance. Getting offended by the word “prayer.”) I’ve dealt with both unpleasant religious-fanatics, and atheist-fanatics alike.
 
Not that I wish to debate religion, I’m just saying there’s crazy people regardless what they believe, or don’t believe.
