Perhaps, though gameplay-wise “Sonic Colors” was more positively well-received. Probably why they decided to take the series into a more lighter-approach. (Though, with still occasionally it’s darker moments. Even though Archie Sonic comics can still get dark to.)
 
Really? I always liked Sally, I don’t see how she’s “hateable.” I suppose she was a li’l bitchy sometimes, but overall she had a good heart, and cared for Sonic, and her other Freedom Fighter friends.  
As for that “selfish” bit (where she famously slapped Sonic) she showed she felt bad about it several times sense then, and apologized to Sonic about it. Plus considering that incident was over 140 issues ago, I don’t think we should hold it against her. Sonic doesn’t, but he’s pretty easy-going.  
Sally’s gotten “better” sense then.  
Plus other characters have done crumby things to him to, (throughout the different canons, not just the comics) including Tails, Knuckles, Shadow, Silver, Antoine, and even Bunnie. Some of the things they did were even worse, I felt, like when Antoine got Sonic jailed as a “traitor,” and such… (Which IMO really soured the ending to the “Mecha Madness” comic story, which would’ve otherwise been a great issue, if it wasn’t for that ending.) Though, he’s redeemed himself sense then, had reprocussions for it, and he & Sonic are close-friends now.)
 
I don’t know, alot of fans hated Amy in “Sonic X,” due to how hot-tempered she was sometimes in that series. She had a nicer/sweet side in that show to, but in later eps she didn’t show it enough, and came off as quite bratty sometimes, which is why some didn’t like her in that show. (That show kinda created some hate for Amy, the way the controversial “slap” issue of the Sonic comic made some people like you hate Sally.)  
Not bashing “Sonic X,” mind you, which had some pretty good episodes. (And I liked it’s SA adaption episode arcs.)
 
He is still egg-shaped, just an upside-down Egg-shape. And despite his phyisique, he still looks quite chubby, and like an “egg-man” to me. (I assume he’s wearing a girdle in SB.)

I heard about that but I read through it a bit and found the most hateable character to be sally. Sonic in my opinion was perfect…except him and sally changed relationships left right and center _  
Oh and just in case you were going to ask I hate sally for one thing: The fact she called sonic selfish for wanting to devote his life to others instead of just her.
 
Ok ok, i’ll give ya that, but come on like you said it goes a little overboard with the comedy. as for amy and eggman…I dunno, I kinda preferred raging amy, made her quite a good and complex character.  
Eggman in sonic boom…I dont like for the fact he’s not fat…that’s it. There’s no joke anymore because he’s no longer an egg shaped man.

Yeah, I kinda prefer Sonic being both a li’l serious/dark, and a li’l silly/comical/cute. (The chao are cute.) Despite the new “Sonic Boom” show being a li’l to focused on comedy, I still think it’s amusing. I hear the comic series of it is pretty good/funny to.
 
Well, Sonic’s a li’l arrogant, just more laid-back nowadays. (Plus, I wouldn’t want Sonic too arrogant, like he was in the British “Sonic the Comic” series where he was practically an A-hole, and verbally abusive to Tails & Amy.)
 
Well, Knux I suppose is a bit flanderized, (granted he was kinda “slow” sometimes in the previous show “Sonic X,” and the games sometimes to) but he’s still amusing in the new show. I kinda like how they handled Amy, (who’s less flanderized, and not so hot-tempered like she was in “Sonic X”) and made her less of a “crazed fangirl,” yet keep her sillyness/cutesyness in tact.  
I also like how Eggman is hammy, and hilariously “affably evil.” He’s almost like a modern “AoStH Robotnik.”

What I more mean is, the sense of comedy and seriousness was very well balanced at one point, back in sonic unleashed, sonic and the black knight, etc.  
Right now they’re going a little overboard on the silly side, heck sonic isnt even arrogant anymore which is what he’s always been.  
Hell there was that one part in unleashed that showed dark gaia mutating, he had blood coming out of him yeah but, it still didn’t look like blood it was a good balance.
 
They MASSIVELY overplay it. He cant read, he cant tell his left from his right, he has to repeat back to sonic the plan thinking himself just came up with it. Its all bullshit :/

The Sonic series has always been a bit “childish,” but I think they’ve been lightening it up, sense some fans didn’t like the “darker” directions the series was taking. (Like with SA2, the Shadow game, and Sonic2006.) Ironically, now some feel the series is getting to silly/lighter, (sense “Sonic Unleashed”) and want a more serious/darker take on the series.  
(Granted the SB villain “Lyric” seems to be quite a dark fellow, and darker characters like Shadow, and Metal Sonic show up in SB.)
 
I wouldn’t say Knux is “retarded,” but in some past games (and in the previous show “Sonic X”) he has shown a li’l naive-aspects. (After all he was raised on an island alone, and such.) I guess sometimes it’s overplayed in the “Sonic Boom” show, but he’s still funny, and a bit badass, at least.
 
While I like the new show, I do kinda wish it was more half comedy, and half serious kinda like the new TMNT show.

I havent played either game but based on what i’ve seen…i’ll only get them to complete my collection of sonic games ^^;  
Oh, I do like the show’s humour, for me that’s its major point, episodes area little short though.  
Also a little nitpick here: I REALLY dont like how mentally retarded they made Knuckles…he’s supposed to be gullible and of average intelligence, not thick :/
 
And is it just me or is sonic getting too…childish? Yeah I know its a game for kids and teens but everything since colours has been…light hearted :p  
They even altered sonic’s look for SSB4 so he was a lighter shade of blue and had shorter quills

I haven’t played the WiiU game, but I can see why some don’t like it. (Look up Knuckles’ “infinite jump gliche.” It’s hilarious.) Still, the 3DS version while not perfect, wasn’t to bad, (judging from the free demo) and the TV show (that the games were based on) is actually pretty funny sometimes, and amusing. (Especially, Sticks & Eggman.)

You make a good point with the whole complaints thing. Its quite close to me with sonic boom; I hate it and the designs BUT, I like the designs in the sense that they keep to the characters (Somewhat) and are distinguishable from the main series.  
Since Boom is just a spin off.

If you’re accusing me of that, that’s ironic, ‘cause I’ve stood up for some “complainers” before. (Even ones I’ve disagreed with.)  
Still, while some complaints are understandable, (heck I’ve criticized some things about the Sonic & MLP series before myself) there is a difference between voicing criticism/complaints, and also just lashing-out irrationally. (Like “haters” tend to do.)
 
Like a good complaint would be, “I wish they would improve the camera-angles, and bug-testing in Sonic games.”  
However, it looks ridiculous when you see some complain about something really minor/odd like Sonic having green eyes… It’s understandable why some won’t take that seriously.  
I understand if some prefer the old chubby “Felix the cat”-like design of Sonic, but some get to obsessive over that. (Among other things…)

Well for Cap vs. Batman, they referenced that official crossover comic where the two confronted each other and Bats mentioned he could lose to the Cap in a fight, but with the technology/stealth he has his under his disposal and the mastery of every Martial art known to man, he’d be the more likely winner.

I think its because while death battle may get things wrong, they still do all the math and almost always they’re right. Fans just cry about it.
 
The only one i’ve not agreed on was cap vs batman. Other than that I just dont like how they say stuff like: ‘batman could counter spiderman’s strength’ And their explanations lead to confusion. BUT, like I said they’re still accurate most times, they just explain it…in a wrong way :p

Yeah, I guess a “Death Battle” would be neat between those 2, but the problem is it’ll seem “favorable” if either character won. (Even a “draw” would feel like a “cop-out.”)  
At least, with AnimatedJames they’re just short parodies, but some take the “Death Battles” more seriously. (Even though, ironically they’re also kinda animated parodies, but more “mainstream/well-known” ones, and sponsored by a major website.)
 
Well, it’s debatable if they’re the “most popular things.” (Not to mention both have their own “hatedoms” to. Some people online actually get angry if you even mention Sonic, and/or MLP.) There’s alot of things on the internet that are quite popular overall.

And yeah the same would be true for mlp fans and mlp in general. When you really think about it, the 2 most popular things on the internet are sonic and mlp, both having EXTREMELY large fanbases and have a variety in different things that sets them apart from everything else.

The same thing, but in reverse with Sonic fans would happen if Rainbow Dash won. Both sides don’t really like people putting down their favorite character/s, and such. (While at the same time they ironically put down other fans of said characters to.)  
So it’s kinda a “lose-lose” situation when it comes to “MLP VS Sonic” characters, as both have very passionate fanbases.
 
Though, yeah there are some who do like both ponies & the Sonic series. (I do, in fact some have hilariously called me “Derpibooru’s resident Sonic knowledge expert.”) So I’m not saying all bronies hate Sonic, but the subject does bring up drama oddly on the internet, as Sonic has become a very “controversial” subject. People either love him, or hate him. (Guess the same could be said for MLP.)

See, I might not be as big an mlp fan as I am a sonic fan but, I will admit AJ is REALLY strong. She could apparently kick down a tree, not seen that, but in my eyes its very believable.
 
Also in response to the bronies not being favourable of the sonic fans, yep I agree ^^; (Not all are bad! Oh god no, i’ve got some quite good friends who are bronies AND some are even sonic fans)  
Just that though is causing things like ‘death battle’ to not do a sonic vs rd episode due to the results saying sonic would win BUT if they showed that…they’d have an army of angry bronies bombarding them <<;

Yeah, you might be right, now that you mention it. (As well, as the “Tails VS magic” bit to.)  
While it’s been stated officially “earth ponies” are stronger then pegasi, and unicorns physically, Applejack hasn’t really been shown to be the “powerhouse” Knuckles has been. (A character who can punch boulders, and such.) Closest I can think of, was her kicking the bell off the “test your strength” device in “Fall Weather Friends.”
 
It does seems a bit like favoritism, even if he is a Sonic-fan to. (Doesn’t help, some bronies aren’t very “favorable” to the Sonic series, so they’d probably be quite angry seeing a mere “Sonic character” doing something “better” then the ponies, or getting the upper-hand. So it’s kinda a lose-lose situation.)

I get this is supposed to just be a joke but, I think its overplaying the ‘mlp characters are better in every way’ card a bit too much.  
For example knuckles beyond stronger than AJ, by a LOT. Now like I said I know this is for the lolz but still :/
 
It doesnt keep to the characters, how they act, behave and just are in general.  
Another example would be ‘Tails not believing in magic’ When on mobius magic exists. Hell the chaos emeralds are magic.
 
I really REALLY hope this guys gets his act together, good humour, good animation but my god no balance.

Chill, that redesign is just for the alternate-canon “Sonic Boom” TV series/comic. Said character redesigns were to basically differentiate it from the main game canon, where Knuckles will still be short, and puny.
