The idea I was bringing up regarding the pie, would be that she would’ve brought him one, maybe for something like a birthday present or a gift for some other occasion, but trips.

The act of competition is moot: You’re creating points that are unrelated to the topic but have you presenting obvious facts so that you can be told that you’re right when it means nothing. They compete, she won. We were discussing Soarin’ and Spitfire, not Rainbow.

Going to the previous argument with the feet, one foot’s in the air and behind you, binded behind your leg. The other’s ENTIRELY what’s supporting your weight, ergo, it would be impossible to break your fall, as you can’t just “Step forward”: You’re grounded by one leg only, and your other leg can’t unwrap from its’ situation. Couple that with the sudden panic that you established, and we’re back to “How could she do it?”.

All in all, we don’t know how she damaged her arm, so most of the argument is fairly pointless to get into, but I still stand by my opinion that Soarin’ and Spitfire are good enough friends that he’d be coy with her.

Whatever bird that's dumber than a duck. Imagine I made the effort to research that and make a new badge for it. - Either a complete retard or a full time moron, it's hard to tell which and frankly I don't care either way

@ShimmeringStallion
“She would’ve tripped, not “fallen off a bridge and needed a parachute.”

A fall that small would not have caused injuries that extensive, least of all in a professional athlete, unless she happened to have tripped at the top of a flight of stairs. Or if she was thrown, accidentally or otherwise.

“When someone trips over their own two feet, it’s impossible (given the position of the legs, with one crossed into the other) to be able to find your footing in a manner that enables you to interrupt the trip by recovering via placing a foot out.”

No it’s not. In fact, it’s not even difficult, provided you try to save yourself with your feet first, rather than your hands. You just kick the one that’s in front further out in front of you and either level your feet with the ground or dip the balls of them down a little. It takes a fraction of a second. Of course, it helps if you’re not panicking, because that’s one of the real hangups of human ability. The tendency to panic when one starts to lose control.

“The best recovery you can hope for is to catch yourself before you hit the ground, but she might be trying to catch the pie to make sure it doesn’t hit the ground, rather than looking out for herself.

Come to think of it, with the inclusion of Soarin’, she MIGHT, MIGHT be able to save the pie and have him catch her… That’s teamwork.”

What? What are you even talking about? Spitfire doesn’t give a damn about Soarin’s pies.

Ok, that argument about how Rainbow took second does nothing to devalue my point that it’s likely a rare occasion for Spitfire to face such fierce competition.

Also, that silver medal was a result of a loss of focus on the part of Rainbow Dash, rather than pure skill against skill, not to mention a severe handicap with regards to the teams.

As for me, yeah, I’ve gotta watch that episode some more to ascertain how Soarin’ acts.

“His later series-version was shown to actually be more intelligent than people had given him credit for, being well-aware of the plan Spitfire and Fleetfoot had in mind, and only putting up with it for the good of the team rather than confronting them, until Rainbow Dash guilt tripped them in front of Soarin’.”

I think you need to watch that episode again. That was not at all how that scene played out. Soarin’ knew he was being dropped because he got hurt. He didn’t know he was being replaced, least of all with a non-Wonderbolt. He thought his team was going to forfeit.

“Wait, might NOT forgive him… if he tried to save HER?… Why wouldn’t she forgive him? He tried to save HER!”

Do you really have no concept of the magnitude of Spitfire’s ego? She has all the pride Rainbow Dash spends every day trying to fake, and with the credentials to back it up. She’s the leader of the most exclusive, elitist club in Equestria (that we know of) short of the Tetrarchy. She personally won her team the most gold medals in the recent Equestria Games, and signs show she likely hasn’t faced a rival of Rainbow Dash’s (a silver she has to take seriously) caliber in years.

For Soarin’ to try to save Spitfire would be a blow to her pride in demonstrating that she at any point needed saving, and doubly so if he failed because as his leader, she is responsible for his training.

“Then again, Spitfire might not forgive him if he tried to save her.”

@ShimmeringStallion
I’m talking about Soarin’ specifically, not an average guy. He’s been repeatedly illustrated to be a few eggs short of a carton, and given how he got hurt, he might be better off if he and Spitfire were not in a serious relationship.

I could see him doing that. Then again, Spitfire might not forgive him if he tried to save her.

@Somber Star
I think he would, personally. Friends sorta do that. In fact, he might even misinterpret that as “Friends with benefits”: That he can bring that up without being legitimately mad at her about it, because he values her friendship so much.

Like how if Spitfire tripped with a pie in her mouth and he rushed to catch the PIE rather than HER, she wouldn’t let him forget it.

@ShimmeringStallion
That was kind of my point though. Honestly, I don’t think Soarin’ would have even remembered being dumped like that, let alone hold a grudge. Of course, that would just make Spitfire feel worse about it, since his natural inclination would not be to abandon her. That said, I wonder if he just let RD have some “alone time” with Spitfire without considering what an uber-fangirl would do with one of her idols at her mercy.

@FanOfMostEverything
I don’t think Soarin’ would do that. Holding a grudge is not in his shown disposition, and he seemed to take being discarded like he was expecting it. He expressed more surprise that Spitfire lied in order to do it.

I don’t think this is a shipping pic. It looks to me that Soarin’ is trying to snap Spitfire out of her amnesia. Also, look at the cast.

Spitfire must have had an encounter on the road with Pastor Maldonado to get those injuries.
