Screw it, there is way too much cuteness between Babs and Trixie that I demand a full episode of these two.

Perhaps it’s time to show Hasbro just how powerful we’ve really become!
Yeah, Hasbro really doesn’t get the fan base at all.
That’s probably why we get stuff like Twilicorn and EqG I guess.
Trixie’s busy with Maud apparently.
I agree.
The writers themselves are a talented bunch, but Hasbro wants to milk it the only way they know how…with toys and kiddy marketing.
Believe it or not, they are posting old episodes of G3 MLP episodes on their youtube channel to see if any bronies will bite and buy that merchandise as well. They do not care even the slightest about their fanbase.
S3 finale, EG, and S4 felt like a collective season with writers having their arms pulled behind their back. They want to milk Twilight’s ascension for all its worth, but DHX managed to spout several valid criticisms of Twilight’s ascension and her S4 character via John de Lancie’s Discord and a few others. (I imagine he’s allowed to write a lot of his own dialogue considering no one knows Discord better then Q himself)
DHX also helps create the stories for IDW comics, which Hasbro has far less control over. A lot of extremely important character development for Twilight that she’s not allowed to have in the show is basically quarentined to the comic’s arcs. Self-realization, humility, choosing for herself….DHX and IDW INTENTIONALLY tear the very basis of the entire Twilight Princess arc that Hasbro wants to pieces via excellent character growth from Twi and Celestia in the comics. If it was ever said in the show, it would eliminate the Twilight Princess arc from even existing.
I disagree, Hasbro is overworking the writers since MLP is a huge cash cow.
Remember, S3 was likely cut short to have them work more on Equestria Girls. That’s a huge cash in, and there’s not a chance Hasbro wants them to take their time.
If they wanted the writers to do quality, the S3 finale and EG wouldn’t have happened.
@aperture_tech
S3 always felt like “getting their sea legs” given that that was the season with the most turnover at the top - eg absolutely no Faust involvement (not saying this as a bad thing), Wootey’s absence, Meghan in charge of stories, a good # of new writers.
S3 to S4 has minimal issues in comparison, a few new writers but I think Meghan helped to manage their introductions a bit better so that some of their first eps worked well.
I also get the feeling that S3 was set to be done on a schedule, while S4 and S5 have subsequently been “We’ll get it done when its done” to keep the quality high, another reason why S4 feels tighter.
There are some fantastic episodes in Season 3, so it isn’t really fair to judge it as a whole in terms of individual quality. It doesn’t do it justice.
However on a whole season quality, it ended on a rotten note, began lacking luster compared to the S2 finale, and all the decent episodes came in the middle.
To boot, it was also very short.
It’s a shame too, because there are fantastic episodes there, but why subject yourself to the other below average episodes?
Shame ‘cause I felt Season 4 was much better then S3. The finale was quite epic, and brought back a classic villain.
(Even though as I said I don’t really hate S3. It did finally give us a Scootaloo episode, and I felt the Trixie ep’ was better then the original Trixie ep’. I also thought Babs was adorable.)
Equestria girls is irredeemable.
It should all be razed.
Second chance mmmm..
It’s hard to explain why I couldn’t finish s4, it’s multiple issues compounded with others, but the largest issue is that s3 killed my personal hype.
The last thing I want is for muh pony show to destroy everything I liked about it in Season 1 and 2.
It isn’t so much as the fault of s4, but s3 was too… average. It had a few brilliant episodes, but overall wasn’t too good.
If you are going to make a single episode finale, you might want to look at s1’s fantastic finale, that remains one of my favorite episodes.
Instead, the finale was so bad (I could give less of a shit about the change were the episode done well) and rushed, which left a bad taste in my mouth for the upcoming season.
Then there was Equestria Girls, and that abortion was so disgusting that I was convinced Hasbro was trying to kill the franchise.
I watched some of s4, but I suppose I couldn’t really find the time nor the excitement for the next episode.
In other words: A lot of people have valid reasons for not liking S4, but its far better to explain those reasons then just say things are bad. People have different tastes and watch the show for different reasons, so if your going to explain your personal perspective, go ahead and do it.
Sure some people won’t agree, and that’s perfectly fine. Its your opinion. But at least they’ll know where you coming from. I wouldn’t go as far as to label yourself an ass or a prick, you just you have to explain things better :)
S4 had some really good episodes, but most of them were best when they didn’t give Twilight any focus. Which is weird because I’m a huge Twilight Sparkle fan, but disappointingly accurate when compared to prior seasons.
Flight to the Finish, Pinkie Apple Pie, Maud Pie, Rarity Takes Manehatten, Filli Vanilli, Pinkie Pride, Inspiration Manifestation? Pretty good episodes.
Princess Twilight Sparkle, Castle-Mania, Rainbow Falls, Twilight Time, Trade Ya!, Twilight’s Kingdom? These episodes, just to name a few, felt like their scripts were made out of jenga blocks, with Twilight’s importance the cumbersome object on top making everything harder to balance.
Some episodes didn’t have it as a major problem, but just a few scenes that kind of messed with their message, like Twilight’s hypocritical speech to RD in Daring Don’t and Rainbow Falls.
They LITERALLY did not know what to do with Twilight’s character, and for a good reason:
After Celestia’s big speech about her being the ‘teacher of friendship’, whenever they made Twilight lecturing-ly correct or ‘wise’, it always sounded dishonest and hypocritical either because its something she herself could never do, or the situation where she seemed wise could only exist cause the others would drop their IQ points into a nosedive.
I thought Discord was immune cause he had the most accurate assessment in how Twilight was making things all about herself, a lot more then she did in prior seasons, but in the finale he too dropped his IQ rapidly for the plot as well.
And to drive it home, the premier and finale hold the exact same 6-step Twi-centric formula that was used in the season 3 premier and finale, which were basically precursurs to S4 anyway.
I actually liked a lot of the episodes in S3 (short list though) of the episodes inbetween. I enjoyed some of Crystal Empire, but the second Celestia gave Twilight that order to risk and endanger thousands for her homework, and she followed it through to the very last second and STILL felt guilty about helping save the people the ‘not Celestia’ way…I knew something was going wrong with the future scripts. And I don’t think the writers were at fault.
@Background Pony #9EFC
“But silliness aside, this was a great comic, hope we see more of Agnes Trixie & Babs in the futures, she draws them in a way what is ecspecially adorable!”
Agreed. :) I am really enjoying the character development they refuse to give in the actual show. And DHX approve all these scripts sooo…what the hell is wrong with them? All their character growth scripts are being sent to the comics. I officially have to love the comics more then S4 because I care about the characters and their development.
While I admit, S3 wasn’t as good as the other seasons, I didn’t think it was as bad as some say. I loved having Trixie return, the introduction of Babs, and not to mention finally getting a Scootaloo-focused ep’ after 2 seasons of her being ignored.
(One of the main-characters, but took 2 seasons to get an episode. Which also goes to show that the previous 2 seasons weren’t “perfect” either, as some say…)
Inside my onion I found a slip of paper that said “S4 was better than S3, but S3 was pretty terrible overall so s4 was better than that.”
Also, I only watched the first half of Season 4.
Season 3 is what I blame though, it truly killed my hype.
*opinion
Holy crap.
Wow, I’m the complete opposite. I think the show is getting better as it goes on. Season 4 is the best season, in my onion.
The complaining has been tripled!!!
Ironically, some are starting to complain about those who are complaining about the complaining!
Fair enough…maybe I’m just hoping my negativity towards negativity will create a paradox, thus negating all negativity ever! XD
But silliness aside, this was a great comic, hope we see more of Agnes Trixie & Babs in the futures, she draws them in a way what is ecspecially adorable!
I don’t know, I still think half the fanbase is quite positive as well, actually.
@TheLoneLampman
Indeed. :)
I mostly agree with what you’re saying. However, there’s a certain irony in complaining about negativity and cynicism by being negative and cynical.
Nothing to reflect on, I admit I missed his other reply which is my bad. But my general comment on the cruddy state of fanbases as a whole still stands, people these days are never satisfied with anything, even when it’s handed to them on a silver platter, were all way to spoiled and unappreciative of the hard work people put into making these silly cartoons, comics, etc we enjoy, and that’s just sad.
I was going to delete your comment, but letting you reflect on what you said seems like a better idea for now.
