Or anyone else in Sonic for that matter. :P
(Joking aside, I like Antoine. He’s nicer, and more competent in the Archie Sonic comic series canon.)

(Ooooold comment I know.) I got “Super Paper Mario” recently, and I actually like it so far. Sure it’s more of a “Metroidvania-ish” game, or “sidescroller with RPG elements,” but that actually makes it a nice change of pace over the previous games.
The Francis character is hilarious.

Paper Mario hasn’t really been good since The Thousand Year Old Door. SPM sucked and so did Sticker. I actually finished SPM but I really can’t get into Sticker.

As for Sonic. The controls aren’t that good and there parts of the game where they slow Sonic down terribly. I mean, yeah, old Sonic’s did that, but the flow was natural… in Lost World he stops in terrible spots. I don’t know… it just doesn’t feel right.

Some do that, (though, some aren’t aware Nintendo does these surveys to improve their products, and company) but I try to give some critique to improve the games personally.

Here’s an excerpt from the interview.

Tanabe :
Yeah. With regard to the story, we did a survey over the Super Paper Mario game in Club Nintendo, and not even 1% said the story was interesting. A lot of people said that the Flip move for switching between the 3D and 2D dimensions was fun.

Looks like the fans are partially to blame for the game’s “lack of story.” I never played the 3DS Paper Mario, so I wouldn’t know.
So don’t just blame Miyamoto. After all, look how much storyline & cinema scenes he allows in the Zelda & Star fox games.

If you want more story in Mario games, better tell them that in Club Nintendo surveys. (You can also earn coins to get games, and stuff that way.)

I played the demo for “Lost Worlds” in both the WiiU & 3DS versions, and felt it was good, what was wrong with it?

My only critique is you now have to use the R-button like a run-button to move faster. I kinda prefered having Sonic run automatically in all the other games.
On the other hand, it might give some fans better control over Sonic’s speed. (Some think he moves to slow, some think he moves to fast.)

Sonic Colors/Sonic Generations were pretty great. I really enjoyed both. Sad Lost World had too many flaws. They were doing so well.

Actually, I don’t think Miyamoto is that involved in the Paper Mario games, (which are made by Intelligent Systems the makers of Fire Emblem & Advance Wars) so you can’t really blame him.

“Sonic Colors” had mixed reviews, but was pretty well-received. It did have just as many cinama scenes as some other Sonic games though.

I wouldn’t say Miyamoto “hates” stories, (look how story-based the Zelda & Mario RPG games are) he just focuses more on gameplay then story.

If Miyamoto hates stories, he should be brought in to direct the next Sonic game, as apparently Sonic Colors was light on it, and gotten high scores.

Yeah, I agree, I kinda prefer the Black Arms. (Plus Shadow needs his own villain/s to fight in the comic.) I honestly wouldn’t miss the Xorda.

In fact, Shadow & the Black Arms are actually coming back in an upcoming “Sonic Universe” (the side-series) comic story-arc.
Though, I hear it takes place after Shadow beat Black Doom somehow off-panel, (not sure) so they’ll probably have a new leader, or something. Could be interesting.

Not the biggest Shadow-fan personally, but I actually liked the Shadow game, (in spite of it’s flaws) and I enjoyed Shadow’s comic appearances. (His interactions with Marine the raccoon were hilarious.)

Something like that, the aliens were Xorda, and they were basically butthurt that humans, captured, and experimented/disected one of their people. (Or something like that, I don’t know. I never read the issue, just saw panels of it, and written overviews online.)
So their answer for killing one of their own, was trying to kill all life on earth. (A bit of “disproportional retrobution, eh?)
There are some humans left though, as well as ones like Robontik & his nephew/toady Snively called “Overlanders,” or something who are like less-evolved humans. (Which is supposed to explain why Robotnik had only 4 fingers, or used to. Though, sense all the characters have 5 fingers now, that’s kinda a moot point, or retcon possibly.)

Apparently, the Xorda are now at war with the Black Arms aliens ever sense issue #171. (Which cleverly explains why the Xorda never came back to Mobius/earth to “finish the job,” after Sonic thwarted their last attempt to kill all life on the planet… Hold a grudge much, Xorda dudes?)
Though, honestly, I kinda hope the Black Arms kill them off, because the Xorda were kinda nasty, and I didn’t think they were that interesting.
They were basically weird looking cyclops octopus-squid things… Oddly, by some coincidence they looked like nastier versions of the Wisps. (The Xorda came first though a decade ago.)

@Background Pony #27E6
Yeah, according to Ben Hurst, I think they were also going to do that in SatA.M. to, but the show was cancelled. It might’ve been inspired by that show.
In fact, the Archie character Nate Morgan, was actually a scrapped SatA.M. character, a human ally to the Freedom Fighters basically. (Nate is deceased in the comic canon now though.)

Yeah, something about aliens being angry with humans, so they nuked it with special bombs that killed them off. The radiation from those bombs mutated the animals, evolving them faster…or some such crap.

Yeah, I think that’s why they called her that, though they called her “Amy Rose” in the PC rerelease of “Sonic CD,” as well as future games, and in the comics regardless. They also used the name “Mobius” for Sonic’s homeworld in some of the USA manuals, though nowadays he’s just considered to be from earth.
(In the comics’ canon, Mobius is actually a post-apocalyptic earth.)

LOL. I do remember her. I thought she was more of a punk version of Amy Rose when I saw her. Then again, it’s been so long since I looked at her design.

Though when Sonic CD came to the states, Amy Rose was Princess Sally. Oh localization screw ups.
