well, according to the reviews, it is:
A) Better then the original.
and
B) || it doesn’t seem to contain any reference to the first one appart form some small Easter eggs. Or it does if you count the aliens as the ones that dropped off Coverfield||
(Everyone runs/flies)

Something’s coming…
#CLOVERFIELD
And I’m listening to “Timbaland - The Way I Are ft. Keri Hilson, D.O.E., Sebastian”.The music they used in the first Cloverfield (teaser) trailer.
I know they showed Godzilla more and in Cloverfield, they showed it a little.
Also even with how little Godzilla was in it the movie was about the humans dealing with him and the MUTOs.
Cloverfiled had it’s characters being jerks for the most part and going through the city dealing more with other people and then a part with the fleas from off the monster, not the monster itself.
Still they showed Godzilla MORE then the monster in Cloverfiled.
It felt to me like the monster was an afterthought with how it is only seen at the very end, with Godzilla you did see him a sometimes, not just once.
I didn’t say that I think Super 8 is a prequel to Cloverfield,ok?I said that some people said that. And didn’t you hear me say:“mmmmmmmmmmmmmh, but then I was like naaaaaaaaaaaaaaaa”?
And they showed Godzilla just for not a little and not a lot,but it would have been better if they showed him a lot.It would have been better if they focused more on Godzilla, instead of the humans.Of course they need to focus on the humans to and show us what could they do in that kind of situation, but they’ve been showing the humans a tiny bit too much.
Okay, two thing I need to corect you on.
“just like Godzilla (2014)” Umm no, in theb Godzilla was actully seen in more then just the last shot, his battle with MUTOs where a seen in it, not like the lack of the monster in Cloverfield.
“Have you heard the the movie “Super 8” is a prequel to Cloverfield.”
You are wrong, Abrams even flat out said it’s not to clear up the idea it was, it’s not connected at all.
Well in the trailer, they showed it in third person camera view.
And when the guy says:“You’re gonna gets us all killed” near the end of the trailer. So,it could means that he knows what had happen. He possibly knows about Clover(field).
What I loved about Cloverfield,is the first person camera view, because it makes you feel like if you’re in the movie with the characters, feeling that you’re in that kind of situation, feeling that you’re seeing the monster/alien in person and saying: Holy F#ck!!!!!!!!!
And the reason why this is a sequel to Cloverfield, because……………………it says it in the trailer and it’s clearly named:“10 Cloverfield Lane” and the first letters that showed up are “Cloverfield”.
If this is Cloverfield 2, I want to see the monster more.Sure they did show the monster, but they teased us with it,just like Godzilla (2014),but when the sequel(s) comes out, they’ll show more of him.
Overall,I want to see New York City in all of it’s destroyed ruins, because of the military dropped a bomb attempting to kill the monster, which it didn’t,I want to see the Parasites to make a come back, because those guys are cool and crazy-scary,And I mostly want to see CLOVERFIELD!
but if this isn’t Cloverfield 2,then it could be a either a zombie movie,a war movie,or something else.
Another reason why I believe it’s Cloverfield 2,because not only the (teaser) trailer came out,but a poster for 10 Cloverfield Lane came also and the slogan says: “Monsters come in many forms” so it could mean that possibly not only Cloverfield and the parasites are not the only monsters in the movie,if Clover and the parasites are even in it.
Have you heard the the movie “Super 8” is a prequel to Cloverfield.I was like mmmmmmmmh, but then I was like nnaaaaaaaaaaa.
So what do you think about 10 Cloverfield Lane?
Oh also the completely unlikable characters it fallowed, give us someone we can actually get invested in.
Just know that Abrams called it “a blood relative of Cloverfield” so chances or it is related to Cloverfield but not a sequel.
And honestly I personally hope there is never going to be a true sequel to Cloverfield unless they drop the shaky cam and make it more about dealing with the monster, because with the way it went I felt like I got bitch slapped.
I saw the trailer!
I WANT TO SEE IT!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
I have been waiting for 8 years for the damn sequel to come out!
I hope this is the sequel to cloverfield, because it does say “cloverfield” in it.
10 Cloverfield Lane
It’s been seven years since the movie came out!!!
Too bad the people it followed were a bunch of gormless fuckwits who made for terrible characters. It’s still a terrible fucking movie.
I was expecting something that would be like it was BUT with more stuff one ONE monster, as in we would find out something about it no matter how small, but we got more of it’s flea then the monster itself and we only got people saying they saw what iot looked like before the end, it’s a movie, visual medium, show more.
@Prof.NightJack
I have to disagree with you both. I realize most people were expecting a run-of-the-mill Godzilla knockoff, where everything is top-view and humans are ants that are only shown to remind people that they are there and that the monster is big.
Cloverfield took a different approach, a from-the-ground perspective of people in the city that the rampage was taking on. Panicking, chaos, not knowing what is happening and making bad decisions.
Cloverfield is far from perfect. There are a number of contrivances, and some acting falls flat. Still, I find it to be an interesting film to watch.
One look at the monster and way too many at the completely unlikable human characters.
And all that build up on the mystery of the monster, and we get just the one look at it.
