“How strong is that will,” The changling thought, “Is he mocking me?”
Twice already the drone tried to shift into the face of a loved one. It was so hungry it could smell all the emotions pouring out of this meal. Sad, scared, worried…. but there was love there. Delicious love buried under all the other feelings.
“I don’t know where I am.”
“I’m so hungry,” the changling whispered, “I-I can’t wait.” But all it could hear were so many voices.
“I’m lost.”
“ …. “
“I don’t know where my family is.”
“… “
“ … There is a train station. That way.”
Hidden jumped in shock as the pony behind him spoke.
