The issue here is that the way Opaline treats Misty bears a close resemblance to so many real-life cases of emotional abuse. To reform her like so many G4 villains would send an unhealthy message to people dealing with that - especially considering that it’s not uncommon for abusers to make empty promises to change their ways.
If salvation is bad, then you are saying that no one has a chance to reform themselves. This was not what mlp taught us. Remember, Twilight herself said that love and friendship softens even the worst of hearts. Can you tell me what’s wrong with opaline shaving? Put yourself in Opaline’s shoes: no one trusts you, no one cares, you are alone. Even if you are really bad, these things increase the motivation to be bad.
I understand this completely because I am almost alone and I know who feels what. You don’t even like to think positively to at least make yourself a little happy. Why should you really be upset about opaline correction? I think you forgot all the lessons we learned from mlp.

Opaline will never ever be nice to Misty. There is no need for her to be nice. Their relationship is beyond toxic. The sooner Misty ends her relationship with Opaline the better. They aren’t mother and daughter.

It’s canon that Opaline is neglectful and emotionally abusive towards Misty, hence the alternate universe. True, in real life abusers will on occasion have moments of kindness, but they’re just that: moments.
I mean opalines niceness to misty wont ever be genuine or in a good place in her heart. The show makes it abundently clear opaline doesnt care for her.
I think you don’t want Opaline to be nice to Misty. It may seem strange, but it is not completely impossible.
