You wanna know how Snowdrop dies?  
Thousand years ago, when Princess Celestia banished Nightmare Moon Snowdrop finds out that Princess Luna is trapped in the moon and she fly away from Cloudsdale and Canterlot and never comeback. Long miles later, Snowdrop went to the Frozen North, and she is crying about Princess Luna trapped in the moon for thousand years. When she look at the pictures of Princess Luna and Snowdrop in her crystal amulet, her last tear drop to the ground and her face shatters into pieces and she become a Skull Ghost just like what happen when Lewis get pushed off from the cliff by Arthur and Lewis become a Skull Ghost in Mystery Skulls Animated – Ghost and takes revenge on Arthur what he did a long time ago. And then, Snowdrop found a Ice Cavern which she could stay in the Tomb of Ice. And now which the story about Princess Celestia, Princess Luna, and Princess Cadance visit to the Ice Cavern and get chased by Snowdrop the Skull Ghost.

Judging from Luna’s reaction at the end of the video, they seemed to heavily imply that she became Nightmare Moon at some point in Snowdrop’s lifetime.
