It’s pretty grim. At this moment there are only two people who exist in the entire world, as all conscious lifeforms had coalesced into one single state of being with the opportunity for anyone with a strong enough sense of individuality to return in their self-conceived image, albeit to a ruined world.

But before any of that can be seen to happen the film ends, with the last moments filled with the sound of the waves washing ashore and throat-clenching sobbing.
