There are actually horses that rather like alcohol, but the point I was making is that horses also metabolize alcohol immensely better than most other animals because their digestive system is used to plant material that takes a long time to digest, to the point that it actually begins to ferment in their body before it can be fully broken down. It wouldn’t surprise me in the least if Sunset enjoyed booze while she was a pony, but really lost her taste for it when she finally got to experience drunkenness and a hangover for the first time as a human.

I really like the idea that Sunset has actually taken quite well to humanity’s omnivorous nature, and enjoys a wide variety of meats and dairy along with the fruits, grains, and vegetables she’s used to back in Equestria. Her only issue is that the human body isn’t as good at metabolizing alcohol as that of a horse or pony, and thus she hates that she can’t hold her booze like she used to.
