Lurking Changeling
It’s not “bionicles”, the word Bionicle has no plural form, as we’ve learned during three of the four movies and the end of the reboot’s netflix series. “This is the story of the Bionicle”.

In fact, in the Bionicle franchise, nothing seems to have a plural form. Makuta, Toa, Matoran, Turaga, Rahkshi, none of these have plural forms. The only exceptions are when they use actual English words.

The End wasn't The End - Found a new home after the great exodus of 2012

I don’t really know anything about Bionicle.
But are their names Maori or Samoan or something? Pohatu sounds a lot like the Hawaiian word for rock.

I used to LOVE Bionicle, but I lost interest somewhere after the Rahkshi set, it got confusing when they started talking about new Toa.

Tahu = Twilight, the obvious leaders
Lewa = Pinkie, full of energy and generally excitable
Onua = Applejack, most down-to-earth in more ways than one
Pohatu = Rainbow Dash, loud and boisterous as the center of attention
Gali = Rarity, power and grace in the guise of relative frailty
Kopaka = Fluttershy, quiet and reserved but hiding an inner tranquil fury

I never got too into the story, but… the toys man, the toys. There was a time, up through like… the third generation of Toa when I had literally every Bionicle set. Dropped off after that - getting just the Main 6 Good and Bad guys, and maybe one or two special sets. Stopped completely sometime around the gladiator sets.

… I miss Bionicle. This “Hero Factory” crap they replaced it with is… well, lame. One of the things that was so awesome about bionicle was they started really simple and then got SO COOL as time went on. I mean, fuck, the Bohrok? IT CAN TURN INTO A BALL! Or the Pirahka, with the light-up faces? Shit was so cash! And then… then they got so expensive. I remember when they were like, $6-$7 a pop, now they’re $12 or $13, maybe even more. Lego in general is so expensive nowadays… but there will always be a special place in my heart for Bionicle.
