In fact, in the Bionicle franchise, nothing seems to have a plural form. Makuta, Toa, Matoran, Turaga, Rahkshi, none of these have plural forms. The only exceptions are when they use actual English words.
WHO! WHOA. Whoa. YEAH, they are.
2 years later hero factory is dead and Bionicle is back
It,s Maori
I remember being very confused as to who the new Toa were.
It is.
Apparently a bunch of pacific islanders (I forget which chain) got peeved at the Lego Group for doing that.
But are their names Maori or Samoan or something? Pohatu sounds a lot like the Hawaiian word for rock.
I approve
Lewa = Pinkie, full of energy and generally excitable
Onua = Applejack, most down-to-earth in more ways than one
Pohatu = Rainbow Dash, loud and boisterous as the center of attention
Gali = Rarity, power and grace in the guise of relative frailty
Kopaka = Fluttershy, quiet and reserved but hiding an inner tranquil fury
Amen to that, brother.
… I miss Bionicle. This “Hero Factory” crap they replaced it with is… well, lame. One of the things that was so awesome about bionicle was they started really simple and then got SO COOL as time went on. I mean, fuck, the Bohrok? IT CAN TURN INTO A BALL! Or the Pirahka, with the light-up faces? Shit was so cash! And then… then they got so expensive. I remember when they were like, $6-$7 a pop, now they’re $12 or $13, maybe even more. Lego in general is so expensive nowadays… but there will always be a special place in my heart for Bionicle.
Yep. It’s pretty good.
