Again, I applaud you for the effort as I think you are off to a great start. I will even encourage you to never stop learning at your own pace, and hope you will never be shy to either ask others how something is done or look up how it is done via google or YouTube.

Be it drawing or painting free hand, using Photoshop (I use gimp), Source film maker, or anything else there is a personal satisfaction when you can grow and self teach yourself.

That’s my big problem here. I think I have imagination but have no painting/Photoshoping skills or tools. I’m actually pretty upset about that. 😑

I applaud you for the imagination, but what is done jumps out at me like a sore thumb so I want to offer some advice to you or anyone else that wants to do this in the future;

Instead cutting out the old cutie mark, then doing a color match, might I recommend using the clone tool to paint over it. Next try fading out the cutie mark so it matches the background is going on. Again, I am not trying to rip on what you did, just trying to help.
