I guess every race has their own methods of horrific killing, unicorns stab you with their horns, pegasi drop you from the sky, and earth ponies just straight out crush you. :P

Now I’m wonder why isn’t there the same thing for pegasi? It’s not like there isn’t a bird related horror/disaster movie to parody with. Is it because pegasi are so high up in the sky they became obsolete? Imagine that cheesy movie The Giant Claw but instead of giant vulture it’s a giant pegasus. :P

My bad, I wasn’t aware of the fact that this is just a myth. Still the point is: Whoever’s behind the “Horns” movie may have simply thought “Giant Aquatic Unicorn = Scary Monster” and didn’t intended this to be anti-Unicorn propaganda.

Yeah, I hate it when people blame that movie for sharks being hunted. I actually know someone who actually does that. It’s basically just like blaming video games for violence.

The whole “Jaws effect” is completely false. The fear and killing of sharks existed way before that.

Then again, not every movie has to be a propaganda piece. For all we know “Harry Trotter” is just an entertaining movie about an Earth Pony learning magic without any political message.
 
Likewise, I don’t think “Horns” is supposed to be a propaganda movie. The filmmakers probably thought a gigantic, aquatic unicorn would be a cool monster without considering implication. Similar to Jaws who led to the vilification and killing of sharks which many people involved with the movie later regretted.

Remember that Hogwarts was a school of “wizardry and witchcraft”, both words with negative connotations.
 
So we have two movie posters here slagging on unicorns: the one on the left implying Unicorns are monsters that like to stab ponies with their horns, and the one on the right conjuring up a fantasy that some Earth ponies could have the ability to practice “the dark arts” like Unicorns did.

To the earth ponies it is still supernatural. Maybe it’s a way to say “Earth ponies can use magic too. Unicorns are not THAT special!” to make them feel better, considering the main cast on the poster are all earth ponies. :P

Can we also talk about the Harry Potter poster? Harry Potter takes place in a world where the supernatural is real but it is disguised as mundane. Does that mean in G5 the magic faded away so long ago now everyone thinks the supernatural does not exist and they just make fiction works about it?
