All together, there are 33 art projects with an estimated 750 hours worth of work. That’s an average of more than 2 hours per day which is quite good considering that I also work full-time and keep up with a regular exercise routine. The shortest art projects included “Honey in a Whirlpool”, “Bandicoot Cuddles”, “Gaspar Le’Gecko” and “Jackman and Calley the Trains” which likely took around 5-7 hours each while the longest art project for not just this year(but for all of time) was “Crash Christmas Truce” which took over 82 hours to complete. Way far back include drawings such as “A Night with my BBBFF”, “Team Universal Remix”, “Our Two Precious Angels”, and “Pinkie and Cheese’s Wedding”. All of these likely took somewhere around 40 hours to complete so none of them came anywhere close to “Crash Christmas Truce”.
As for the visual mediums, the vast majority of the art projects(28 of them) were digital drawings done in Photoshop, 4 were traditional pencil drawings, and only 1 was made from modeling clay. However, I do intend on diversifying my art projects with more modeling clay and even bringing back jenga blocks to create towering structures(look at some of my earliest uploads to know what I’m talking about).
Of the 33 art projects, 18 were original ideas of my own while 15 of them were requested by other people. Of those 15 requests, the only one that wasn’t requested by a fellow DeviantArt user was “Family Portrait”. In this case, it was my paternal grandparents who requested me in person to draw this. They even gave me $100 for doing so making it the only art project this year that I ever got paid for. Regardless, thank you to all of the people that have submitted me requests!
Of the 33 art projects, 16 of them were either based on Crash Bandicoot or My Little Pony:Friendship is Magic; 9 were exclusively based on Crash, 5 were exclusively based on MLP, and 2 were Crash/MLP crossovers. Another 3 art projects were based on Winnie the Pooh. In my 7 years of being on DeviantArt, I’ve noticed that fan art based on popular cartoons and video games are usually the ones that become the most popular so are there any other franchises that you would like me to cover? Let me know in the comments!
I even ranked my own art projects and came up with my top 10.
10 - Revenge for a Fallen Brother
9 - Our Two Precious Angels
8 - Kirby and Garnet
7 - Ponies and Bandicoots: Alternate Version
6 - Liquid Pride Runs in the Family(No Text Bubbles)
5 - Crash and Spyro - Yin and Yang
4 - A Night with my BBBFF
3 - Sonic and Goku
2 - Twilight’s Ascension
1 - Crash Christmas Truce
It was extremely difficult to choose between my top 2 but Crash Christmas Truce just barely came out on top. Twilight’s Ascension would’ve been my number 1 but I just wasn’t quite happy with the way I drew Princess Twilight 2.0’s wings. While I like the choice of colors in Twilight’s Ascension more, Crash Christmas Truce was slightly more polished up making it feel like a more complete drawing which barely gave it the edge. So what are your favorite drawings of mine? Let me know in the comments!
So that concludes my 2020 projects. I had a lot of fun making these drawings and I hope you have enjoyed watching me make them with my Let’s Draw series! My next project is not going to be MLP-related so if you follow me on DeviantArt, you’ll see part 1 of a brand new Let’s Draw series uploaded around January 1st and I hope to see you then. In the mean time, Merry Christmas(Hearths Warming Eve) and Happy New Year to all of my watchers!
Thank you!
