OK, the English name might be based on the Sylph, here’s a description of the Sylph from Wikipedia:
 
Sylphs are winged air elements or fairies. They ride the wind, flying high with eagles, Sylphs are female and are almost transparent. They’re slender and graceful, with large glistening eyes and huge wings. Sylphs befriend and protect other flying creatures, such as birds, moths and butterflies. Sylphs can move as fast as lightning, but they may also drift along on draughts or puffs of wind.

Wow that new Eeveelution is terrible. I’m glad I got out of pokemon years ago.

Sylveon which seems to come from the word Sylviidae

With it’s English name being Sylveon, which seems to come from the word Sylph, it seems that it’s going to be a flying type.

I check Sylveon’s name, as she is a new Pokemon so I’d thought I’d find the definition of her name to find out more.
 
Besides meaning silver flower or beauty, it could also connote without defect or blemish.
 
Slyveon could be a Normal-type, Eevee’s true evolution.

Does this mean Applejack has no moves?
