As I was thinking about this scene, it occurred to me: We kinda dropped the whole ‘friendship lesson’ thing within the first few sessions of the comic, so that wouldn’t be the thing that turns it around…

Twilight Sparkle: Well, move over. I’m trying to get to the fridge. What are you doing on your phone? Going through your campaign notes?
DM: I’m actually trying to find a specific– Ah! Found it. I want you to listen to this real quick. “Hello there! Just messaging you to say I saw the post about the meetup group you’re putting together for the D&D game, and I’m wondering if maybe I could join. I haven’t played before, but I’ve read all the books and I’ve watched and listened to tons of videos and podcasts and read lots of stories… I’m just hoping for the chance to finally try it out.
Twilight Sparkle: …It’s my first private message to you. Is this supposed to remind me of why I’m doing this?
DM: No. It’s supposed to remind me.
