What’s funny is that there will still be swarms of people commenting saying they’re obviously just acquaintances, all casual acquaintances do this, you’re taking it out of context, this is clearly not intentional on the animators’ part, etc etc.
No, I wouldn’t say “acquaintances”. They’re good friends. Really good friends even. And good friends can and often will be affectionate with each other in the way Applejack and Rarity are. But that doesn’t mean they are in a canonical romantic relationship.
 
And let’s be honest, people do frequently take things out of context in this regard.

I am neither of those things. I just realize that until the day comes where Hasbro makes it official, your ship is your own interpretation, not a fact.
