yeah the show does often do human-like poses and gestures, more in later seasons than in season 1, and whenever the show does that it’s lazy and uncreative.

I hope you don’t take that background pony’s words too hard. We appreciate the art you share with us, and the work that you put into making ponies looking “pony like.”
 
What many people don’t notice is the show animation switches the front legs between a horse-like joint set for walk/run cycles and a human-like set of joints for many gestures and poses.
 
It happens that most body pillow poses work better with human-like shoulder joints, which makes them look “more anthro” even with a pony body. It’s very hard to get a body pillow to look pony-like, and I think people should appreciate the effort you put into experimenting with it.

Is not true, dear. I’m experimenting with the anatomy. It’s easy to draw plot closeups all the time, but it’s boring. Don’t worry, not intending to abandon horse anatomy.

He’s even drawing his ponies more anthro now which is never a good sign, but he used to draw them more pony-like. I hope he improves!
