Commenting on a nearly year-old debate by telling everyone involved to get a life. Have you considered how hypocritical you sound? You cared enough about a stupid debate to comment on it long after everyone else involved found something else to do.
If you’re here for the Space Ponyos only, why bother with comments?
Are your lives all so intolerably boring that you’re pouring all this thought into a sparse, spotty fan comic of a different show?
Look, I’m here for a reason, I enjoy this stuff too. These little stories are good fun. They are not worth this much effort as far as deciphering personalities or trying to plan out what the character’s “lives” could be. This is a comic, an entertaining one, certainly, but a comic none the less. You have an actual life you could be pouring that much energy into.
@redweasel
That would be a brilliant idea. Delta needs a friend/assistant, not a dependent and that would do wonders to redefine their relationship into a Jetless context that Delta can accept, along with Apogee getting to improve her mom’s quality of life and actually encourage a desire to change.
@Tavi959
Because I can not see this actually helping her, at least not without some sort of eventual acknowledgement that what they did to her was unconscionable.
Think about it, Delta has been having her life falling apart around her ears. A good portion of that being her own fault, admitted, but still. And now, in her own home, the one place she had some level of control over, she is denied her freedom of association by her despised ex-boyfriend and a daughter he clearly has soul custody over and she wants very little to do with. I’d even be willing to bet that Jet, Gavel and even Delta know they don’t have a legal leg to stand on, but that Jet can absorb the legal fees and time needed to reach that result and Delta can’t.
Yes, she needs help, and this may even lead to her getting some, but any relationship built up with this questionably legalistic gun to her head will end up being horrifically toxic, with every “Love you mom” undercut with the unspoken “And will drown you in legal fees if you don’t want me to”
I want Delta to get her shit in order. I want her to have a healthy relationship with her kid, and I do want them to have a happy ending. But I have a hard time seeing the current situation resulting in anything good in the long run for anyone involved, except for maybe Jet.
@Meanlucario
Totally agree there. I mean, if you don’t empathize with Delta, why would you care if she gets help, rather than just wishing Apogee a new puppy, role model teacher or a stepmom? If Delta gets help she needs to want the help if it is going to stick once the immediate threat against her livelihood/freedom goes away.
At this point, my best hope for something not worthy of a Dr. Phil episode would be something like: Things go on for a while so Delta gets used to having Apogee around and may get to know her a bit better until something happens, like Apogee manages to badger out the reason Delta despises Jet so much or she finally breaks down about how fucked up her life is and how she has had a good chunk of what little agency she has left stripped away, followed by an apology from Apogee and begging Delta to accept help rather than having it forced on her or something.
what apogee doesn’t deserve is to get shot down for trying to help, because she can’t understand what delta’s going through. delta has spent her entire adult life being told she’s doing it wrong and that she needs help. I don’t think more of that will do much good.
honestly I don’t know if apogee should be the one helping her mother at all. apogee doesn’t even care who delta is, at this point. she just smiles in denial and mentally replaces delta with the mother who apogee was taught a mother should be. delta needs someone to love and respect her for who she is, not for what she is.
here’s an idea: how about apogee apply for a job at delta vee’s junkyard? she’s old enough to work part time, and it’d give delta an excuse to interact with her without just being her mother.
@Meanlucario
You know that. I know that. The problem is that other people aren’t seeing it that way. They’re looking at it from Delta’s point of view, which is blaming everyone else for her problems and pushing everyone away.
She needs help, and that alone proves it. I just wish people would appreciate that Apogee isn’t Delta’s enemy. She doesn’t deserve that.
@Meanlucario
It’s not that people shouldn’t feel sorry for her. But there’s a point where you have to acknowledge that Delta is Delta’s biggest problem.
@Background Pony #11C1
Why? So Vee can keep being a miserable bitch that’s wasting her life away? Make Apogee feel like helping her mother have a life that isn’t drowning in booze and cigarettes is hopeless?
Apogee only used force for the first step because Vee wouldn’t have her under any other circumstances. Does Apogee deserve that?
People need to stop empathizing with Delta. Delta’s a disaster. She can’t stop living in the past, she hates her present life and she won’t do anything to fix it. She needs help.
@Tavi959
Honestly, I need to agree with @Entrinity on this one. I kind of hope this scheme fails catastrophically and Vee gets an apology. I just can’t see how this scenario could possibly lead to a healthy relationship. The power dynamics are just too warped, with Vee essentially being a prisoner in this situation. At best you could get a Stockholm syndrome or something with an even more justified undercurrent of resentment out of it. At worst, it works, Vee buckles and Apogee learns that if someone isn’t who you want them to be, you can force them to change with daddy’s money and lawyer.
@Background Pony #53D1
Have you ever considered that there are people out there who have paid Shino to do that kind of art? That still doesn’t make it canon to the story, and an artist under commission provides the commissioner with the art they ask for because they are being paid.
@Background Pony #39CD
It hardly even matters if it’s canon or not. The artist thought it was a good idea to do the whole incest thing, so that already kind of ruins their more wholesome work. It’s like watching old Bill Cosby shows in 2018, you know?

Yep. I’ve said that Delta’s biggest problem is herself weeks (if not months) ago.
It’s not that people shouldn’t feel sorry for her. But there’s a point where you have to acknowledge that Delta is Delta’s biggest problem.
I disagree that people shouldn’t empathize with Delta, but do agree that she needs proper help.

Hope their bond grows stronger <3
I think some of it Shin did for fun, but still isn’t canon.
Have you ever considered that there are people out there who have paid Shino to do that kind of art? That still doesn’t make it canon to the story, and an artist under commission provides the commissioner with the art they ask for because they are being paid.
Don’t even compare it to Bill Cosby.
That’s an overreaction.
It hardly even matters if it’s canon or not. The artist thought it was a good idea to do the whole incest thing, so that already kind of ruins their more wholesome work. It’s like watching old Bill Cosby shows in 2018, you know?
so?
there’re some of them ^^
@LittleDog
Imagine if more artist/writers made non-canon smut of their stories/characters.
nope
Shino decides where the story goes, not every Picture he draws.
Edited
No. Creators are allowed to make more that isn’t at all canon to their story.
But it’s made by the creator, wouldn’t that make it canon?
Nope. It’s part of the porn universe.
Delta blames Apogee plenty just for existing. I really don’t think you should be doing the same.
Apogee is a pretty smart filly. She’s observant, wants to understand her mom so she can help her.
