Chrysalis lay there, gazing upwards, thinking to herself. Her mind was awash with conflict, straining in it’s attempt to process what had just happened. Had she really been overpowered so easily? How? Hadn’t she prepared for such an occasion? Why did Daybreaker want her on the floor anyway? What purpose could any of this possibly serve? As the queen pondered these myriad questions, her focus was suddenly caught by a pair of generous white buttocks as they fell upon her.

When the alicorn’s backside hit, Chrysalis’ muzzle was buried deep between the supple haunches. With the shocked queen’s facial projection lodged firmly in her rear crevice, Daybreaker adjusted her seating position. The princess stretched out her legs, placing them carefully between her guests’. Chrysalis was stunned. Her vision was filled with white, the pristine posterior obscuring all else. From above her, she heard the alicorn say “Heh, enjoying yourself down there Chryssie?”. She wasn’t sure this was mockery or simply a rhetorical question, but the queen didn’t really care.

Heat from the alicorn’s blazing tail washed over her, the soft flesh closing around her face. It was heavenly. All too soon, the princess rose from her guests face, holding herself up by her hands. “Well, I thought that went rather well.” purred Daybreaker, peering down at the queen “What say you, Chrysalis? Shall we bring this little session to an end, or perhaps you would prefer that we continue?”. The changeling’s face curled into a broad smile. With her hand, she made a beckoning gesture. The princess returned her expression and allowed her hindquarters to descend once again.

Chrysalis muzzle was once again engulfed by the thick rump, the fiery tail warming her once more. This time, however, she was far more active. The queen wrapped her arms over her host’s thigh, forcing her rear back and pressing her face into the soft flesh. Daybreaker, amused, glanced over her shoulder at the changeling. “Oh my!” she declared “Aren’t we eager?”. Chrysalis barely registered the comment, her concentration fixed on the sensation. It was overwhelming, the atmosphere was thick and almost suffocating. The experience left the queen decidedly giddy, losing even her sense of time.

Chrysalis had no idea how long it had been when her host finally lifted herself from her face. Dazedly, she looked up at the princess, watching her curiously. “You seem a tad light headed.” Daybreaker noted, extending an arm “You’re not the first that’s happened to, believe me”. The queen took her hand, allowing the princess to pull her to her feet. Exposed once more to the open air, a cold breeze rushed across her face. Still light-headed, the changeling collapsed into her chair. The princess, retaking her own seat, noted “Well, I’ll let you clear your head. Then, we can get back to business”.

As the day stretched on, the talks became far more cordial. The two monarchs traded propositions, eventually closing with an agreement. With their business concluded, Chrysalis allowed her host to escort her out. Stopping at the doors, she turned to Daybreaker and addressed her. “Well, princess” she stated “I must say, that all went far better than I thought”. The alicorn flashed her a conspiratorial grin. “You’re telling me!” she replied “You had best be going. The guardspony will show you the way”. Chrysalis returned the grin and leaned in. “One more thing.” she added quietly “If you’d like, I could invite you to the Hive. I’m sure some of my drones would be all too glad to experience your, shall we say, special talents”.

Daybreaker simply replied “I’ll think about it.” and sent the queen on her way. As Chrysalis and the guard disappeared into the foliage, she muttered, with some satisfaction “Special talents? Heh, works every time”.

The metallic clomping of boots and heavy armour followed a pair of figures through the wooded grounds. The first was a soldier, the source of the noise. Bedecked in shining golden armour, he lead the second figure at a reasonable pace. The second figure was Chrysalis, queen of the changelings. She had recently established a discreet correspondence with one of Equestria’s two princesses, who had proved more shrewd than anticipated. This would be the first time they would speak in person.

Approaching the end of their journey, the pair approached a quaint villa. It was a grand thing, a magnificent piece of pristine Vannerlencia-style architecture, gleaming white and adorned with great orange banners and drapery. “Wait here.” the guardspony instructed, disappearing through the ornate wooden double-door. When he reamerged, he told the queen “Go on in. The princess is waiting for you upstairs.” and held the door wide. Chrysalis entered, taking in her surroundings.

The interior was quite luxurious, furnished sumptuously and holding a collection of elaborately carved woodwork. Locating the staircase, the queen ascended cautiously. The upper floor was cast in a bright, unmistakably natural sheet of light, radiating from a large open segment that overlooked the grounds, functioning like a balcony. As Chrysalis emerged into the light, she cast her gaze towards it, laying eyes upon her gracious host. “Ah yes, your peon said I’d find you here.” the changeling said “Princess Celestia, I presume?”. With that, the princess came towards her, looked rather different than her portrait suggested.

“Greetings!” she replied “But that is no longer my name. Please, call me Daybreaker”. Now Chrysalis was intrigued. None of her drones had mentioned this. “I see. Tell me, is this a recent development?” she asked. The alicorn grinned, revealing a vicious array of dagger teeth to match the queen’s own. “Yes, I’d say so.” answered Daybreaker with an air of self-satisfaction “Let’s just say I’ve been reconsidering my outlook on matters of late. But enough of this idle banter. Come, let’s talk business”.

The princess ushered her guest over to an intricately carved wooden table and offered her a drink, which she declined. The two monarchs seated themselves in the shade of the drapery. “Now then” the princess began “Let’s get straight to the point, shall we? To be frank, Chrysalis, things have turned rather ugly over the past few months. Civil unrest has been on the rise since my, shall we say, change of heart. In fact, some local garrisons are beginning to rise in revolt”. The queen regarded her host with an air of curiosity. “Well, this is all quite fascinating” she said “but what does any of this have to do with me?”.

The alicorn leaned in somewhat. “My confidence in the royal guard has been rather shaken.” she explained “If I am to silence these dissenters, I shall need your support. My offer is this: If you would be willing to cooperate, I shall make quite certain that your hive won’t go hungry”. Chrysalis’ interest was now piqued. The changeling slung herself over her seat, lying relaxed across the chair’s arms, her legs outstretched. “Please, do go on.” she said “I’m all ears”. Daybreaker inhaled quietly, running the offer through her mind one final time. “Alright” she went on “Here’s the proposal: you will organise an armed force in support of my own and participate in the reclamation of my revolting territories. I, in turn, shall organise a tribute. We shall regularly send healthy specimens to your hive, that your people may feed on their love. The specifics, we can discuss later”.

The queen thought on this for a moment. There was certainly some promise in the princess’s proposal, but something didn’t sit right with her. “These specimens, as you called them” Chrysalis asked “Not picked from your loyalists, I would assume?”. The princess shuffled a little in her seat. “I suppose not.” Daybreaker responded somewhat tersely, before added “Does it matter?”. Chrysalis’ mind was racing, searching through the possibilities. From what she knew of the alicorn, she was probably telling the truth, but not the whole truth. There was a fresh brutality in her demeanour, that much was certain, but she was still the same sort of mare she’d always been. Artful in her manipulation an determined in her intent.

Yes, this was a mare who got what she wanted. Chrysalis knew her type. Now she wanted to consolidate her power, to make sure that any resistance was stamped out. Under those circumstances, she wouldn’t do anything to provoke further opposition, which meant that selecting from the public was right out. Volunteers would also be hard to come by, given that most ponies are generally averse to being fed upon. This left only one option. “Undesirables then?” Chrysalis asked, with an accusatory tone “Is that your plan? You’ll send us your criminals, your rebels, anypony that doesn’t dance to your tune?”.

“Well, yes. That’s the idea.” Daybreaker answered, not sure where the changeling was going with all this. Chrysalis gave her a cold stare. “Of course.” the queen responded bitterly “You know, princess, there’s a lot more to love than you may believe. Not all love is the same. Your nation has so much love, princess. Not just any love either. Fresh love! Nourishing and delicious!”. She stood, launching into a rant. “A single pony’s love can keep a changeling fed and healthy for days. But do you know, princess, what happens to a creature in captivity, filled with hostility and resentment? Do you know what happens to their love? It stagnates! It goes rotten! The love they produce couldn’t satisfy a drone for so much as an hour. A damaged specimen like that requires extensive retraining, just to produce some proper love again. That can take months, princess!”.

The queens tirade had begun to worry Daybreaker. “Now, Chrysalis” she said, attempting to calm the changeling “I’m sure we can make this w-”. Chrysalis cut across her, striking the table with her fist. “Is that the best you can do, princess?” she declared “You would have me spend precious changeling life to bolster your reign and dispose of your dissenters, just to be repayed with cheap snacks!? Don’t insult me, mammal!”. The princess was in a state of fluster. She wanted an ally, not a diplomatic incident.

“I understand” Daybreaker explained “that I may not have thought this entirely through. I know you didn’t come to have your time wasted”. Chrysalis seated herself and responded with a derisive snort. Daybreaker, as if in response, stood and rounded the table, stopping next to her guest. “Perhaps” she added silkily, placing a few slender fingers on the queen’s shoulder “there’s something I could do to, shall we say, smooth things over”. Chrysalis caught her tone. Though she had experience with the art of seduction, the queen wasn’t used to being on the receiving end. Nonetheless, the offer had aroused her curiosity. “Alright” she replied cautiously “I’m listening”.

The princess grinned, pulling the queen to her feet. “Well then” she said, with audible relish “This should be simple. Just lie back and let me do the rest”. With that, she advanced on her guest, coiling a powerful arm around the queen’s back. Chrysalis was disoriented by the alicorn’s sudden approach, falling back into her arm. Finding her legs swept from the floor, held in her host’s other arm, she spoke. “What is this?” she exclaimed “What are you doing?”. In place of a response, Daybreaker gave her a broad smile, calming the befuddled changeling in her arms somewhat. The princess laid her guest wordlessly on the carpeted ground, leaving the queen in a haze of her own thoughts.
