Yeah sure there are problems with people who hate homosexuals and lesbians, and we do need to fight against them, because we deserve dignity and common decency. What we dont need, is to get mad and slander someone as homophobic because they dont agree that two female characters in a kids show is gay because they blushed while looking at eachother once. Fighting against problems that arent there is what gives people the brand “Crazy sjws”. It is perfectly fine to believe 2 characters that are not canonicly established as gay, are not a lesbian couple, and its perfectly fine to think they are. Of course it would be much better if everyone just kept thier thoughts about this particular scenario to themselves, but we dont. And so people talk about it. And as long as noone is ACTUALLY being objectively racist, sexist, etc., we dont label them and then reffer to the label as a reason that they’re wrong, or to silence them. And this goes both ways. I have learned from personal experience, that just because im part of a minority, doesnt mean i get to say anything i want to anyone and play the victim card afterwards, because thats being a downright jerk.

This IS being against gays, or LGBT people in general. This is saying they don’t deserve to be represented like every other person out there.
 
Let me remind you other shows, like “Steven Universe” and “Star VS The Forces of Evil”, have actually been doing groundbreaking representation on LGBT folks without getting taken off the air. I get that Hasbro might not be ready to run certain risks or deal with the potential backlash, at least not yet, maybe never, but that’s not a reason to throw away hope, specially when I can feel that some people at Hasbro really want to push these boundaries if they can.

I never said I was against gays… I just said that they shouldn’t put lgbt characters in children’s cartoons… Unless you WANT mlp to be taken off the air because parents claimed it was “encouraging children to be homo”. Derpy got her name changed cause of a similar, more idiotic reason.

Yeah, just because they don’t see it doesn’t automatically make them homophobic, but saying they aren’t homophobic doesn’t automatically make them not-homophobic either. I caught on bigotry in their behavior, and called them out on it.
 
You say this gives bad rep to the LGBT community, but in my experience, if we don’t fight back in some way or another, we just get shoved aside and step over like it’s nothing. This bigotry I’m seeing since yesterday is nothing new either, and it’s there whether I say anything or not, but yesterday I decided that, if I had to deal with any bigotry, then bigots would have to deal with me as well. I will not enable them to be bigots about it and get away with it with nobody calling them out on it.

Thank you! I’m not a part of the LGBT community, but I agree with your statement. O get tired of being called anti-gay just because I point out the facts. I actually had a friend in High School who was gay so I’m not homophobic.

Dude just because someone thinks this isnt a romantic relationship doesnt make them a homophobe. They literally stated many times that they had nothing against gay relationships and explained thier viewpoints, and you still just called them a homophobe. Your argument was literqlly “if you dont like being called a homophobe, them dont be such a homophobe”. As someone who’s bi, i find it real tiresome when people throw out these kind of accusations to support thier personal agenda. And especially over some dumb ship. And look, i dont know you, but if youre gay or bi or trans or whatever and feel personally insulted or something, stop playing the homophobe card like this. It really gives the lgbt community a bad rep
