Peachy Pie:
Could be a sister or cousin we don’t know yet. I’m really hoping I’m right.
Diamond Tiara.
CALLING IT!
Her child from the future :P
Who does that filly look like to you?
Probably related to Tempest Shadow
OMG imagine if that was true
Yeah, Shad’s an experiment on biological immortality, the only reason he actually looks like Sonic is because asfadgaskjf.
I talked with my friend who was active in the Sonic fandom before she came to MLP: FiM now and she confirmed me that’s where it started. And also clarified that Shadow the Hedgehog has very definitely a very different storyline and origin story than Sonic and that he isn’t “just stronger, black and red”.
She also told me how toxic the Sonic fandom had become and that this pretty much teared this fandom apart, now I have a good impression of that…..
I’m relieved the brony fandom managed it to overcome the few Sonic fans who picked on Tempest Shadow and called her “edgy” and that she’s adored by the most now.
I hope the same happens for Lilymoon.

I still like it, people are too mean.
The impact darker cultural facets such as Shadow the Hedgehog and early ‘00s rock made and how they’re perceived these 15 years, I don’t completely think much of it, I simply liked parts of the era. I’d imagine it’s probably because I was thirteen years old. >w<
If you want to get technical, Edgy the Hedgey was the first “Exactly the same as an already existing character, except stronger and black and red” character that existed in popular culture.
Shadow the Hedgehog? Is that were this weird “Black = Bad” thinking began? Or was it only when the first red and black alicorn OC was created?
I’ll be honest, even after fifteen years, I still like Shadow the Hedgehog’s design. X3
See, now it makes sense.
Here’s where it would come in handy to have an understanding of how the colors of a pony connect to its personality and character.
Lilymoon is a very cold pony, as is the rest of her family (as someone hinted below, think Addams Family as ponies), so they chose very cold colors for her design. She’s also not standing out much, on purpose, so her colors don’t stand out much either.
It’s not like they’re not knowing what they do when designing new characters.
Fair enough.
They’re all colorful ponies to me. Because you feel like they match some perfectly executed themes, it doesn’t mean everyone feels that same way. Likewise, I can just as easily find Apple Bloom to look boring and I cannot claim to say that any of them are ‘objectively’ better or worse. In the end, it’s still a design, and it doesn’t mean anything about character or personality. You’re just judging designs based on what you like and not, and that’s fine, it’s your opinion. But you’re not saying it’s your opinion, you’re just saying that Lilymoon is a poor design.
Yeah, the CMC color pallets are all analogs colors, but they have something something that makes them stand out.
Scootaloo’s colors (Orange and Fuchsia) are analogs to each other, and they have a contrast of color warmth.
Applebloom’s (Red and Yellow) don’t have a contrast as Scoots’s do, but they make someone thinks of the colors of an apple, plus her eyes are a fade of different shades of orange, so they’re a mix of her coat and mane colors.
And Sweetie Belle’s (Purple and Pink) compliment the green eyes, plus they have a saturation contrast with her white coat.
Lilymoon’s palette does have an analog complement, but there’s nothing that makes it stand out, since they’re all cold colors, there’s nothing to contrast them against.
So yeah, it’s not as well thought out as the rest.
More like not to your taste. And judging the proverbial book quite a bit by the cover here….. I’d rather not find out how often you think someone sucks because you don’t like their look.
Yeah… For once I gotta agree with you. People are too goddamned judgemental to any pony that isn’t plain anymore, I swear to fuck.
@Deserter
The color contrast is really no different than the CMC up there, and if she didn’t have clothes on, she’d probably not even be insulted at all.
I don’t like her because everyone else doesn’t ass well, I don’t like how she looks. There’s not enough color contrast in comparison to the other ponies, and her manestyle looks fucking ridiculous. I don’t bloody know what her personality is like, all I know is that the design isn’t very good.
So yeah, “Learn to think for yourself and to not ride mindlessly on a wagon”.
Just finished reading them. They surpassed my expectations and already the first book has confirmed me something that I already reckoned with:
These books definitely don’t fall into the Scooby Doo trap.
If there’s some mysterious stuff going on, then it’s really a monster or dark magic that is behind everything, not a pony faking something for the purpose of sabotage or for ruining something. Things get actually real there.
And the second book went bucking dark! Especially the last lines of the epilogue…..
And the best thing, my Crusaders finally become the heroes they deserve to be and can show what’s in them! :D
Even though those last lines of the epilogue are more “adventure” than I wish for them to get tangled up in…..
Stay safe, girls.
Giving insulting nicknames to every pony with a spiky mane, a dark coat and black clothing really is fun, ain’t it?
Learn to think for yourself and to not ride mindlessly on a wagon.
There’s nothing wrong about her, other than the prejudgements and biases she is met with based on her look.
