I assume it’s, well, hay, deep fried.
 
Though I’m not sure what the difference between it and hay bacon would be though. Though the latter is a fanon creation rather than a canon food, I think.

So, what are “hay fries,” exactly? Some kind of deep fried fast food that’s as bad for ponies as fried potatoes are for us, I suppose?

“Why yes I did.” “Okay, so where is this project of yours?” “Why over here my good fellow.” “well, first we gotta get that Princess out of the way she’s gumming up the whole project.” “Blast it all she IS the project!” “Hey good idea dynamite will save time.” “I say whats the charge?” “oh, about two or three stick of dynamite.” “No, the charge of Bits what’s the estimate?” “what, Nope can’t give an estimate too risky!” other discord disappears. “well that was odd… Twilight are you okay?” Twilight’s voice echoes in the barrel “No, get me out!” “But I’m not an expert, Twilight.” “Discord!” “Oh look another expert howdy Applejack!” “Discord are ya teasin Twi again?” “Now why would I ever do I thing like that?” A halo went over Discords head “ Uh huh.” applejack replied “Say applejack you got stuck once too right good thing rainbow helped you out buh-bye now!” Discord disappeared Applejack blushed bright red “Um, chocolate milk?”
