The End wasn't The End - Found a new home after the great exodus of 2012

Ah, I would think this particular matter falls under the Death of the Author theory. If it’s not put forth within the work, the creator’s interpretation has no more bearing than any fan’s. This would apply to tech levels, especially as they appear to be so wildly inconsistent.

Mostly word of god, I guess.
“Jayson says they try to keep pony technology limited, with even the filmstrip projector chosen because it’s not modern. Meghan joked we’d never see Twilight tweeting. Jayson later had to shrug his shoulders about the night-vision goggles seen in the clip.”

To be honest, I just like arguing it.

And just what is wrong with ponies have modern technology? My loooooong talk with the mods helped me see ponies use a mix of modern & magitech, I still don’t see where you’re pulling this 1930s tech out of because the type of equipment Vinyl uses is a 90s design.

MOSTLY 1930s tech.

Also house music and EDM are primarily CULTURAL phenomenons. The tech for creating house music and EDM have been around for a while. Different kinds of electronic music have been around since the 1900s, but the CULTURE of the time did not necessarily catch onto it. Technology is partially influenced by culture; if there is no want or need for something, it is very likely such devices will not be developed. As B2C said, the tech may have existed but the demand was not there.

Cutie mark could also be indication that the pony is good at sci-fi.

Thanks to Vinyl Scratch, it also has House Music and other types of EDM, so it’s also got 80’s/90’s ish elements.

Uh. No.

The first hydroelectric dam was built in 1878, while the first electronic computer was invented in 1936 (the Konrad Zuse), HOWEVER, the first GRAPHICAL USER INTERFACE (the thing with icons, windows and curors) was developed by Xerox in the early 1970s. That’s almost 100 years later.

Frankly, MLP technological level is somewhere around 1930s-1940s level.

As for the arcade games, you don’t actually need advanced electronics to have them; there are such things as electromechanical arcade games, many of which (from what I can see in the Youtube videos) seem to use relays. Also, the first electronic “arcade game” was Tennis for Two, which was featured on an analog computer using an oscilloscope as a display (btw, oscilloscopes are canon).

Not really. It means computers are part of the fourth wall and this is pinkie pie. Apparently enough magic + proximity to Pinkie Pie = Fourth Wall becomes accessible.
