I’ve seen this since iirc 2016 but only found the actual episodes online today. kinda sad when they do a background gag but no one’s there to see it (wiki for the show’s been up since 2015 but no updates since then even if they listed the homage in the trivia).

i don’t think it’s an attack on pony, more of a background gag.
otherwise they could’ve really let it have it.
which version are you speaking of? TV or the movie? movie plays the anime cliches much more than the TV.
Ba advised that MAD tv had to make sure that their pony parody looked just close enough like FiM without actually breaking copyright.
So on model in fact that it looks like straight up plagiarism.
I know that bronies are an easy target, but if you are going to mock a fandom THEN MAKE SURE YOUR OWN CONTENT IS ACTUALLY GOOD BEFORE YOU JUDGE SOMEONE ELSE’S.
