Yes he did.
And after Season 4 where it showed him to that he REALLY wants to make an effort, he then tries to fuck ponies over in Make New Friends but Keep Discord.
I think things started to get shaky for him in the Season 4 premiere and really became a issue for him in the Season 4 finale.
It really contributes to why I don’t like how he was written post Season 4.
I think it did pop up in a bunch of fans’ minds there for sure.
Discord’s plan was really mixed received.
It went though (hopefully) most fans’ minds like mine as well.
Even so, I wouldn’t mind seeing the villains succeed either.

Not so much the villain trio but all of the hero characters.
I wouldn’t mind seeing the trio murder Discord.

Ending of the end episode when Celly strangle Discord for release the Evil Trio to rampage all Equestria alongside they make all creature to broke up and seregation while in lines of Mane 6,Starlight Glimmer,Spike,Princess Luna,Pillars 6 and Student Six are joining with her for strangle to Discord

Now it’s easier thanks to Season 9 finale.
I want someone to draw the Mane Six, Spike and Luna also joining in.
And then prank Celestia.
