“Hey you don’t mind opening your Christmas presents first, do you? I got you something for your birthday but it’s upstairs and I thought you might want to hang out with everyone for a bit first.”
 
Ah yes, Christmas. Lovely, glorious, beautiful Christmas, around which the entire kid year revolves. Even if you don’t celebrate Christmas, there’s plenty of holidays to pick from. Days on which to gather together with the people you love and wish each other Peace on Earth.
 
It truly is the most wonderful time of the year. And I’m not just saying that because my birthday just happens to be on the 24th.
 
So for some time I’ve wanted to do a Christmas themed pic in SFM, and this year I decided I was going to do it. Even if SFM chugged as I added model after model. Even if half the cosmetics I wanted to use on the RED team weren’t in my directory. Even if I needed to spend hours trying to light the scene. Even if Vinyl just would not expose properly. Even if the outfit flexes would suddenly stop working. Even if Lyra was the only mare who somehow looked absolutely perfect no matter what I did. Even if I almost forgot to put a major award in the background.
 
Even if I stayed up until 5am working on this and thus further wrecking my sleep cycle.
 
By GOD I was going to get this done!
 
And…now it’s done.
 
So! Here’s Vinyl throwing a Christmas party which also technically happens to be a birthday party for her (and your) good friend Helios. Tavi’s here, of course, along with Rarity, Twilight, and some fellas from the RED Team. Also Lyra because her last pic got such a good reception and I’m curious to see what she does for folks here.
 
Despite all the difficulties I mentioned two paragraphs up, I’m really happy with how this pic turned out. But of course what could be more fitting for this time of year than something that is so exhausting to put together and in the end it all comes out alright?
 
And with this being my last upload of the year, I’d like to wish all of you a Merry Christmas (or Winter holiday of your choosing) and I’ll see you all in the Happy New Year!
 
Now if you’ll excuse me, I’m going to take a cue from the father of the guy I kinda sorta share a birthday with and rest.
