People have always hated Dash, this is just another flavor. Insecure and unsuccessful people enjoy seeing successful people (or, in this case, ponies) suffering, it makes them feel better. Rainbow Dash, being a member of an elite group is an obvious choice, but you’ll see many abuse and torture pics of Twilight or Rarity too, and not as many of Applejack, Pinkie, or Fluttershy, whose merits are less evident.  
It’s sad, but it’s probably for the best. People who enjoy abuse have been proven to be the same people who enjoy torturing animals, or inflicting pain on others (bullies, wife beaters, etc). Allegedly, abstract “punishments” such as this one are a escape valve for those destructive feelings, while being less likely to be implemented in real life. In short, if broken people can choose between hurting real living beings, or imagining that they’re hurting cartoon characters, the latter is a good workaround until they’re able to heal their mental scars.
