Ironically, this was the last comment posted for 3 years.
I suppose it could be ironic in the way that they would accept abuse from corporations but not the government. But it technically wouldn’t be contradictory to their belief set. As far their philosophy goes negative liberty is all people deserve and positive liberty isn’t worth giving to people.
I never said it wasn’t theft, just that it’s ironic libcaps believe that
It’s true that companies abuse their power to rule over people. Many of which using the laws that protect and even assist their business to grow by fucking over the average person. However taxation is absolutely theft. Taxes are a foreign entity that demands a part of your livelihood to do things you might not agree with and likely don’t want. Nobody is allowed to choose wether or not they wish to be subjected to it they just are.
Here here! An excellent post. I would only add that the private sector be given a greater opportunity to compete and produce in sectors like public safety to offset the costs to the taxpayer.
And, on another note, it would have been nice if each state had been up to snuff at or exceeding FEMA standards at the start of the pandemic.
as a libertarian myself, I can understand that some taxes are necessary but a lot of them are ridiculous. I’m fine with liquor tax and other luxury taxes. However when taxes are constantly stacked on the people it makes very hard for them to live their lives.
Good point, I forgot about the layers.
Although for the record that system doesn’t seem to be working in America s the moment, we have a president who will do crazy things to get what they want, and you have California which is violating federal law

I can’t believe I’m dragging myself into this but…
That’s not how it works. That’s not how any of it works.
Government can’t be “small but strong” because it’d be too small to do a damn thing. And “big but useless” doesn’t have to be the only alternative. It’s not that simple. It’s not black and white. Rather, government should only be as “big” or as “small” as it needs to be in order to function and respond to a situation.
And in the case of the large USA, government is split between federal, state, and local. If local is failing, than state needs to step up. If state is failing, than federal needs to step up. If federal is failing, then you’re screwed at that point. Or the state and local needs to step up.
And if federal is overreaching, then it needs to stop or the state needs to protest. If state is overreaching, then it needs to stop or federal needs to rein it in. And so on.
That’s good government.

Correct
I say governments are like tomboys. Small but strong is better than big but useless.
Good point, but still, you need a government that’s stronger but not too strong, something filly anon and starlight there don’t seem to get
She used to want this. Now she even fears having too much influence on others. You could say a reformed authoritarian is bound to fear authoritarian ideals a lot more than other people.
Wow, no wonder Hasbro worked hard pointing out how bad communism really is, by expirence it through cartoons and game, one will understand communism as a bad example.
Thanks. I am a philosopher at heart, translation by formation, and writer by talent.
Never have I read truer words than this.
