The Mega Man X series mechanics in general tend to stuck almost all the bosses in a predictable patern if you use their weakness.
I must recognize that fighting Magna Centipeede withouth his weakness can be a bit scary thought. (Yeah, I’m talking about the magnet tail move)
(I know, wrong game.)
Flame Stag is the same way even if you don’t have his weakness. The AI in this game was pretty easy to lock into a pattern one way or another.
I always hated that boss, not because is hard (he isn’t really), but because he’s boring and tedious, specially when you use his weakness.
