Now that we know about Tempest’s past, we just gotta see what she’s capable of in the movie.
I know, it even hyped me more about the movie.
I just wish they could do longer and more detailed books.
But it’s still an enjoyable book by an average professional. You gotta give it that.
True, even If I enjoyed the book, I wished it had more details. They could have made the book a lot longer with exactly the same plot, just with a better description of the places she travels and the things that happens to her.
Bad they have to stuck with this 122 pages format like the chapter books…
Maybe the author doesn’t want to give much details in order to not contradict the movie (it already has contradictions with the show), so most of them are pretty vague.
I don’t think it’s fair to compare these books with this one. Those were epic books that became famous by their own, written by extremely talented and well known writers. This one is written by an average professional writer who does stuff based on movies, not a master mind that creates full worlds on their own.
True. I guess part of my problem is that when I think of ‘children’s literature’ I think of things I read growing up like Treasure Island, Wonderful Wizard of Oz, Black Beauty, and King Solomon’s Mines. I just wish some of the MLP novels for kids were a little better done, arrogant as that is.
I read it, and kids may like it, BUT I enjoyed it too.
So I guess if I pulled her horn off, she wouldn’t die.

if they think Starlights background story is the same as Tempest Shadow
when was the first an last time Starlight fought a Ursa minor and than lost
her horn when she got hit by it’s paw against the cave wall.
Except unlike Starlight, Tempest becomes a follower of another’s cause, not a leader of her own.
Not really, no. Starlight’s belief that cutie-marks were the sole reason for the divide between her and Sunburst was something conjured up entirely in her own mind. Tempest, on the other hand, felt a rift forming between her and her friends because she did actually suffer from a physical debilitation. Unlike Starlight, she is legitimately unable to perform the magic that her friends can and join them at Celestia’s School for Gifted Unicorns.

Starlight didn’t get her cutie mark at the same time as Sunburst, she was physically fine
Tempest got knocked against a cave wall and her horn broke which is a physical piece of her body
Those are definitely different
Tempest’s backstory is like Starlight’s, huh? Sorry. Not seeing it.
I can’t see the connection there, friend.
Also her excuse for becoming a villain is pretty weak. It’s basically Starlight backstory except that Cutie Marks are replaced with horns.
It’s written in as an acceptable explanation.

That’s a scary thought… O.O
She’s lucky she isn’t dead.
Girl should have been liquefied.
Yeah, she just got hit by a Ursa Minor when she was a filly. I mean, it didn’t hurt at all. It was just a giant bear against a kid. And got her head knocking into a wall. Just so you know, that isn’t the “real text”, the text in the image is from different pages.

I still think it would still be wrong to hurt a baby but what do you guys think.
Jesus, if a Ursa MINOR can hurt a unicorn THAT bad, I don’t want to immagine what a Ursa MAJOR could do…
Same.
