Samnite-tier armor?
Put armor on one arm so it’s all like one shield in itself, and fight with the other. Or the unarmored one may be used with a shield, where the armored one would be used for combat but have added defensive capability should it be needed without bogging down the fighter.

Yes that sounds reasonable,I think I’ll do just that.
For all three stories, the events recounted in the show took place several days (in Rockhoof’s case) months, or even years (for Flash Magnus and Mistmane) before the events of the comics.
You can always headcanon that the rest of the squad they were trying to meet up with beyond the dragon lands was the characters from the comics.

I dunno, but I wish there were more multicolor characters like Sunburst, Troubleshoes, and Bella here.

As you see, Legionnnaires use the left front hoof to wild the shiled so they protect their frong right hoof with a bracelet during fights
