I could tell you guys something about eating stuff off the floor or out of the trash, but I feel like that would be high school TMI.
Now that I think about it, I don’t think Spike has eaten anything that has bothered him.
You’re talking to someone who eats “baked bads” fished out of the trash, you know.

Actually, I think Maud did Rarity a favor here. Now she knows this cave is full of only common gems and should avoid it in the future.
I’ve been around since the Diamond Dogs. Seeing this scene again since Gauntlet of Fire was a nice throw back.

Gem mining is a common interest they share. It works out well for both of them: Rarity can find gems, Spike is strong enough to dig them out of rock and unlike Rarity doesn’t mind getting dirty in the process. Rarity gets what she needs for her fashions, and there are apparently plenty of leftovers for Spike to snack on. Win/win situation all around, so it’s no wonder they do it a lot.

Yup. To think, he’s been such a good boy for Rarity all this time and those gems turn out to have next to no value.
I’m waiting for the shots where Rarity is totally gonna crack and Spike is touching her shoulder.
