you’re funny.
… You got over it, which is why you’re here right now.
Good day. I just realized that you’re not worth my time. Background ponies never are.
I haven’t enjoyed the show since Season 2. I read fanfiction. I come here for the art. How ‘bout you?
The only one “whining” here is Ihhh, who appears to be in denial. And that’s okay. Denial is the first stage of grief. I went through it too, about five years back. Then I built a bridge and got over it. Because First World problems. Right? Right.
All I can hear is whining about the show “not being as good as it used to be.” which is why instead of doing something you enjoy, you moan about it anonymously on the Internet.
Have you tried having an open mind, or do you just enjoy complaining more than the actual show?
Cut the sensationalism. You’re an anonymous commenter, not a journalist.
Nice strawmen.
Making the observation “oh, look, that train is going over a cliff” imposes no moral obligation to present a plan of action in the very next breath to prevent the impending train wreck. The train is already in free-fall. It just hasn’t reached the bottom of the cliff yet.
Pity. It used to be a such a nice train, too. Oh, well. Mind the flying debris.
Have we reached the point yet where most of the people criticizing the current season aren’t even watching it? It feels like we have…
Anyway, assuming for a moment that you’re correct and the fandom’s dying because the show’s quality is nosediving, what the heck are we supposed to do about it? Beg Faust, Renzetti, Larson, Keating Rogers, et. al. to return? Write to Hasbro en masse to demand they hire people who can quote “The Best Night Ever” verbatim? Create our own series that ignores everything that happened after
“Games Ponies Play”“A Canterlot Wedding”“The Return of Harmony”?As for me, while the first two seasons are likely to always be my favorites, I’m still mostly enjoying the new episodes, still loving the old characters, and as long as that’s true, I’ll keep watching with gratitude towards those working their hardest to make a series they’re proud of.
Nice edit.
not anymore.
You’re talking to yourself.
There has been tons of continuity with past seasons, what are you talking about?

“The fandom was always dying.”
Everything dies. Christ.
oh god, not another one of these comments.
Denial is not a river in Egypt.
I don’t blame Poochie, er, Starlight Glimmer, for it. It had been going on quite some time before that. But she’s a convenient label for the failures to live up to the potential the world and characters had in Season 1, that have all been thrown away, and along with them the fandom’s interest. She’s a convenient label for the zero-continuity free-for-all that dozens of squabbling new writers have created, who sometimes make me wonder whether any of them’s ever so much as watched a single episode of the show. Maybe that’s harsh but it’s the impression I come away with when I look at the constant contradictions of established continuity, the bizarre out-of-character behavior that’s brought onscreen for the sake of a throwaway gag and called “character development,” the constant retcons.
I love the fandom, I love good fanart, I read good fanfiction–but I haven’t been able to watch the show without cringing since Season 3–in some ways, since Season 1. I don’t even watch any more.
And I’m not even mad. I’m just really disappointed, and sad for what might have been. If only Lauren Faust had stayed with the show. I know that’s selfish of me. I know she has a life, and she said she was getting out to raise a family. She doesn’t owe me anything. I understand that, I respect that, and I wish her well. That doesn’t keep me from thinking wistfully about–well, First World problems, right?
Step 9:
Actually rewatch the episodes and re-evaluate your opinions regarding whether or not Starlight is as bad as you thought she was.Cry on 4chan about it hoping that someone will feel sorry for you.Step 8: Be banned again for dodging your previous ban, because the mods can see right through your silly little tricks.
Step 7: Buy a new computer so the mods won’t recognise the IP.
Step 6: Be banned by Derpi mods.
Step 5: Have random users on Derpibooru mock your general style of posting in the classic “Profit” fashion.
