Same here. Lesbians feature quite prominently in my stories as well as most of my thoughts.
I’m going to note that there is a surprising amount of homosexuality in the animal world, to the point where some researchers suspect it may provide some benefit within various animal species.
This is getting dangerously close to opening quite the can of worms, but the American Psychological Association released an Amicus Brief a while ago that indicated, among other things:
I am unashamed of my bias for all things lesbian. Also someone asked about this particular idea and I thought it could be interesting so… I’m gonna roll with it for now.
Yeah, that’s probably overthinking it for these characters. They’re just dealing with that reflexive distrust of the different that comes with a lack of exposure.
Also, if you haven’t already, you may want to look up the variants of the ‘gay uncle’ theory. The short version of it is that it’s beneficial to the next generation to have even more capable adults emotionally attached to them that can spare the extra resources. For a very social, apex species, it’s not just a numbers game when it comes to offspring.
But it’s going right back to lesbians. Only in general instead of one particular ship.

Methinks BP can’t handle a story actually shifting mood and subject from time to time to change things up a bit.
But wait, the last comedy was… yesterday? Before that, you had Celestia giving Discord some shit about Dungeons and Dragons. And before that was a whole big mess of Tuna. Some lack of posting for a time while I moved, and then some Mr. Ed. You make it sound like I’ve gone super serious for months now.
I think Luna being the world’s first lesbian is pretty funny.
It’s called backstory.
And if you no longer read it, then why did you come here to complain about it?
Though I will admit that the tone shift is just a tad jarring…
