I mean, most modern cities would not last 100 - 500 years before crumbling away to the point where an archaeologist would be needed to determine that there was a city here in the first place. However, there are some exceptions; The best case would be Rome, its most famous architectural landmarks (The Parathion and Colosseum) due to being largely built of roman concrete without the aid of reinforcement, would still be recognisable to most people 1000 - 2000 years from now. Modern buildings and infrastructure are just simply not built to last for any meaningful length of time, in comparison there are some roman roads and small stone bridges in rural europe that are still working after nearly 2000 years with little maintenance work done to them. Its just always amazes me.
Yah, probably.
Bet ya that if you took away all of the ponies, that those ruins will be one of the last recognisable structures left in Equestria.
Heh, Life after people. It was pretty good, and probably very accurate, if we all died off for some reason.
