Premise is that Twilight and Luna’s adopted bat pony has had a rather upsetting bad dream and needs some snuggles. Something in the original sketch really got to me, so I broke out the little Bamboo tablet and colored it.
Little guy looks so depressed, I mean, how you not feel for him.

He’s nocturnal. When Luna watches over ponies dreams Pterus is awake.
Yeah. He’s lucky Luna adopted him since she can dreamwalk and probably knows good spells to help with nightmares too.
When you put it into that perspective, that makes a lot of sense.
Perhaps Luna can use a special spell in the future to lessen the nightmares for their little Pterus.

because Princess luna rules the night, and sleeps during the day, and twilight being lunas Special Somepony adjusted her schedule to match hers
Luna, dream-walker, princess of the night, and caretaker of the moon, plus bat pony offspring. Odds are Twilight chose to adapt to the sleep cycle of her wife and child.
(By the by, why are they sleeping at 1PM?)
