This is why we have systems in place that show each ship exactly where each other ship is at all times. Having to maintain these systems myself while I was deployed. If someone fires at a friendly ship, more than one someone fucked up.

I was there for rimpac back in 2011. I’m aware of how our systems work. : P

Well most foreign naval vessels are gray. Just. Like. Ours….(which I honestly don’t understand, it’s be better painted matte dark navy and it’d look cooler. In world war 2 the gray made sense as paint was expensive and radar wasn’t as perfected so not having a popping color was sort of important but now, as rimpac has shown us, the ship could literally look a rouge wave and it would still show up on radar three hours before it pops up on the horizon.)

Woof, siblings in the military. Had a similar scene when my younger brother (air force) and I (navy) were both set to deploy around the same time.

Never an easy thing.
