The knee shifts around. Look at how the right leg is bent. The knee protrudes out. and the other is laying more flat. So the knee cap is more flat. That’s just how anatomy works.

Nah, that’s the correct deformation of a knee pressed against a hard surface at that angle. The left knee isn’t pressed because the shinbone is supporting that leg.
